I'm hoping Andy goes to the Dauphine. The odd thing is if Andy does the Giro he shall arrive at the TDF with his worst ever form. But we all want to see him win a GT.

Who is this "we all"? I certainly am not one of them. I'm quite happy and thoroughly entertained by his yearly foibles on the road. His winning the Tour would only increase the size of his already massive ego and do the same for Bruyneel. Eternal Second-Part Deux, that sounds great to me.:)

I know lots of people thought it was dull, but the 2009 tour was when I started watching cycling for the first time since the mid-nineties - Cav sweeping the sprints, Wiggins plugging away for 4th and Contador thrashing the field and Lance was all great. Does anyone know anywhere where the Astana story is told in any level of detail - be it a forum, article, book etc? If it hasn't already been written I reckon there's a great book in the 2009 tour if you could get the inside story.

Well we certainly won't get it from Armstrong, at least not an accurate depiction of what transpired. I agree though and I'm surprised that no one has jumped on it conisdering all the intriguing drama that was the 2009 Tour.
Someone here in the form with a bit of journalistic talent should give it a try (Alpe where are you?:D).

Someone have Klodi give me a call, and I will write it :D

I second that statement La Pandera...Second place in all grand tours sounds good to me...I hate the winer....

Yes. You will be able to read the court proceedings of the Armstrong case in about 6 months time for the full insight.

And by the way; the 2009 Tour was one of those most boring of all time. But I think you know that.

Actually Lance did tell his side of the story already - Bill Strickland followed Astana around and wrote a book that was pretty Armstrong favourable ... "Tour de Lance".

Interesting read - but read some stuff of the Armstrong threads in the clinic - and "Lance to Landis" first to get some perspective ;)

The 09 TDF was ok but it was not that exciting as a race and it did not lead to the expected fiery LA vs AC.

The best 5 TDF's in my view since 2002 have been;
2011 ( Cadel won/ Shleck showed guts/ first real season where i knew every cyclist )
2006 ( marred by FL, JU, IB all having doping implications. Kloden should have won, not Oscar. )
2003 ( the year LA showed weakness and his hardest fought TDF victory )
2008 ( a great year with people claiming the yellow jersey left, right and centre. A pity Cadel crashed )
2007 ( the ITT Levi pulled off/ Contadors' attacks in the mountains were great. Also Vinos' **** fuelled attacks were great )
