what would Eddy like for Piccolo? jail? closed in a monastery? he'll get a suspension like athletes do.
No of course dopers aren't allowed to have sex, to have a life. That can't be right. Dopers should be punished hard for the sake our punishment hardxns.

So here's Sapolsky on cheating; (I tried to find clips with him talking about how people looooves to punish but didn’t find a clip short enough)

I see the sleeping pills has a red flag.

People only take sleeping pills if they have trouble sleeping regularly. Why would Piccolo hide from the team that he had trouble sleeping? Why would he take medication without telling anyone? He could have talked with the team doctor, why didn't he?

Let's not forget Luca Paollini had a cocaine and sleeping pill addiction, for example. I think it's normal for EF to be concerned about Piccolo's behaviour and to warn UCI about it.
Wow, I feel like I'd be feelin' pretty darn good (for awhile) if I was regularly using cocaine and sleeping pills! Quite the mixture, though obviously not sustainable.

@Sciatic should know this better than me, but...

Certain benzodiazepines like Lorazepam & especially Lormetazepam f.e have been used as sleeping pills before prescribtion of Z druga like Zopiclon & Zolpidem became more frequently.

Luca Paolini was using Lormetazepam. Just like Koen Bouwman & Antan Tolhoek. So these 2 substances have been in usage as sleeping pills.

Benzodiazepines followed up the old barbiturates like phenobarbital and secobarbital. Which were still prescribed until the early 90s and often used to attempt suicide. Judy Garland, Phyllis Hyman, Curt Cobain, Leila Pahlavi all killed themselves with combination of especially secobarbital overdose.

Clonazepam however has a quite specific indication, like restless legs syndrome, to be used as sleeping aid. So it's indeed a weird choice from my amateurish understanding.

If Piccolo suffers from anxiety or panic attacks there are other choices like Alprazolam / Xanax that would be more plausible.

Maybe Sciatic can enlighten me a bit

I’m not as familiar with those drugs (except for medical procedures). I took Gabapentin (anti-seizure med) for years to decrease nerve pain (it mutes the nerve firing). Fortunately I’m beyond that now, I just use methocarbamol for the occasional acute back and cervical spine pain. Methocarbamol does help with sleep but they are fairly lightweight driugs—I.e. not as potent as benzo drugs,
