A bit of semantics battle IMO. Fact is he didn't get close to his hope/goal.

How do you know that?

Maybe not, maybe yes.

If his brother puntured as someone said...and he waited for him and helped him close to the finish... and just losed one minute to Nibali, he is into the ten top better in the climb.

I dont know if that is that way, but it is a fact he was better than in 2011, and he is much better than one year ago, so it is a good signal for him so far.

If I'm not mistaken his spoken ambition was to "climb" with the 10 best in the event, not necessarily finish the gc in the top 10.

ah.. yeah you are right. I misread it. But unfortunately he wasn't near what he wanted. So next race please. P-N?

I think so, yes. It constitutes a change from previous years, when he would always race T-A. Nice to see him in a "different" race than usual

Hope he can do a decent run in one of the stages.I dont expect him fight for GC...He has to build toward Ardennes, still has a lot of time ofc.
Now he has Frank to train with him properly so,Andy train hard!:)

They say being a Father makes you a worse descender, but in this case I don't know if thats possible :p

Seriously though, good for him. There is more to this thing of ours than Col's and finish lines.

Congrats to Andy and his family. May the new boy bring a lot of luck to his dad :)

On P-N - he has to show some fight! Come on! Cant be again down 20 mins or so.

Man you really would've thought Andy would've shown up at Omloop KBK weekend to try and get his first win. Since small wins are such a high expectation of him. I full anticipate him showing up and attempting to win every other race on the calendar soon. I am literally holding my breath waiting to see him at the lineup in San Gimignano where he will mark Sagan and outsprint him in the finale since that is the expectation and of course is so logical. He NEEDS this win to prove he is on form to win every other race of the calendar. Even though this was not the case the last time he won the tour de france. That is the expectation now.

There isn't a 'last time he won the tour de france'.
