I bet Schlecks and Brunyeel will try to spin it that Andy is going for the record of winning Queen stage of the Tour years in a row.

Hes currently on 2.

Much depends on Kloden's climbing form as it's very likely he'll be very good at TT. Anyways not competing at the best ones' level in the Tour during 3 years is a big deficiency for any rider, especially for such an age-related one as Andreas. Though Leipheimer's perfomance, who rode Luz-Ardiden very strong compared to the main favourites, inspires optimism. But again I wonder if Kloden will be able to pass all the mountains without bad days... :(

Which one? Monte Peyragudes? :p But it's a great thing actually that Andy's double Tourmalet+Galibier is unlikely to be repeated soon. :p

I would hate for Kloden to be surpassed by Andy in the team order. I am sure however Andy will attack a lot which will be good.. Problem is it will just be a platform for Contador to gain time on Cadel whilst Cadel will then surpass Andy.

Nice post. For me Andy is still very much leader over Andreas. He lost less than a minute to Klodi in final TT of '09 - often Andy is not that bad against the clock - and in recent GT's we cannot rate Kloden's climbing with Schleck at all. It is likely that that Kloden will even lose more time to Schleck on Fillies than what Schleck will lose on the 38 km ITT. But obviously I hope for a strong enough performance from Klodi in the mountains to give him a chance at a high GC finish.

Kloden may not even make the TDF team, given his age and what he went through this season. We saw the difficulties with his recovery at the Vuelta - compare to Wiggins who is much younger and was able to podium. Klodi could barely hang onto the autobus.

We will know of Kloden's chances once we get to Paris-Nice and his defence of Pais Vasco. Hey, maybe Klodi will take a leaf out of Andy's book and go for back to back Queen Stages?

At Paris-Nice :D

Never understod some riders obsession with the tour, like Andy now for eksample, he has to understand that he can`t win next years tour, nontheless he will once again try, instead of taking an "easy" win in the giro...

there is no guarantee andy will win the giro though :S..... and even though the giro is a great race, in reality the tour is the one that matters.. Menchov won the giro and tour but even though I am a menchov fan and not a fan of evans, cadel has the victory in the race that really matters... shame but true...

Anyway I hoping andy will win something :S anything.... come on andy :S...... Probably the giro is better for him, I would say he should go for it next year and if he fails there he can recover enough for an attempt on the vuelta..... Let frank have a go at the tour.. we will see though..

Andy could win the tour even with all the TT kms. It will take an exceptionally bold move, and no looking over his shoulder. I'm actually looking forward to the attempt. Unless he learns to TT in the top 10 and then I'll look in the clinic :(

Don't forget Klodi injured his back at the tour whicj took a little while to heal taking away time to train for the Vuelta.
Plus I'm sure I read that he did not want to race the Vuelta because he hadn't recovered sufficently but the team (management??) wanted him in regardless.

Andy's reaction to CAS decision - http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/andy-schleck-reacts-to-contadors-doping-ban

Loathe as I am to praise him, I like the fact that he acknowledges that he was second best to Contador in 2010

if he said then chapeau!

fair-play also from john gadret:
"i will always think i finished 4th".
Gadret : «Récupérer le podium du Giro, c anecdotique. Je penserai tjs avoir fini 4e. Procédure a trop duré. Contador a faussé la course.»

Not even the guys benefited with the suspension are very happy about it. That tells a few things about the supposed clean cycling. Poor Alberto got unlucky to be caught it seems:)

It's a press release. It's PR, nothing more.

I doubt these are Andy's own words...

You seriously think he is happy to be declared winner because of a court decision? No one wants to win a race in court, all your doing is looking for more reasons to hate him. These are his own words.

in my books, 2010 TDF winner is now "n/a". andy never beat the guy who did win. (nor did sastre in his day either)
