Interesting prospect, but surely Contador as he has a little extra punch, and every finish requires it.

I don't. I don't know if you've noticed but Alberto seems to have lost a bit of his punch uphill. Besides he almost always struggles with allergies during that time of the year.

Also, :eek: you would like to see him go all out + you think he can win it means you would like to see him win. I don't believe that.

But what if Andy peaks for these races. He could do a 2009 again. Also in other races.

Also his punch uphill was alright to me in last years Giro. And as well even though he was tired and jaded after that Giro he did come a close 2nd to Evans at the Mur de Bretagne in last year`s Tour. That was more of a stage for the puncheurs.

I can't understand how you can loathe someone then later hope the same person entertains you.

I don't want the riders I hate to win at all costs. That says something about me, I guess. Or about you, I don't know.

In the States we have a saying (well it's a colloquial statement that is used amongst African-Americans): game recognizes game. Folks can express their hate or disgust or whatever with Contador, but at the end of the day they have to respect the talent. Same goes with Andy, despite what folks say about Andy, at the end of the day, they recognize him for the talent that he is.

You could always jump on the Andy Love Train and root for him. Recognize his overt sexiness, his manly chest, bulging biceps and swoon under the weight of goofy charm and charisma. Then you'd have 5 years of bliss.:D

Look at Scarponi and Basso next week in the Giro. I will enjoy the riding and the show that they will put on but it doesnt mean I like their past offences. I will still criticise them in the clinic. The same applies with Contador.

I cant say I am a huge fan of any rider. I just love cycling for the spectacle it can be.

Primarily because they are part of his dual season focus (Tour and Ardennes).
As Karlboss said Contador would likely do as well or better than Andy because he is a punchier rider and has shown at least once (FW) that he could contend for the win.

He was definitely spinning more in last year's Giro, maybe potentially saving his legs for the possibility of competing in the Tour.

I would prefer Samu to win this years TDF over Menchov, for a few reasons.

1. It would mean a rider with not as good ITT will have won ( Samu would have had to attack a lot ).
2. Samu is enterprising and attacking.
3. He has raced more this year ( though Menchov usually focuses on other races/ has competed in all GT's/ featured prominently ).
4. He lost 3rd spot ( 2nd officially- but I'm not counting ) to Menchov in 2010 because of a crash.
5. I just like him a lot and he would deserve a GT win at least once.

sorry, lots of work. no time to post. but i promise to comeback. as i see,with frank in the giro, the tour intrigue is totally destroyed..everyone could quietly surrender to andy just before the start. it would lighten their tortures.the thread wont go bad no need to worry
