i am tired of listening andy schleck complaining about what happened last year! I think AC had the right to attack him when andy's chain jammed! so after almost a year what do you think of that episode???
do you think that AC should have waited Andy or he was right to attack him?

I'm sure if you conduct a search of the threads here, you will find PLENTY of threads discussing the very topic and you can find all sorts of opinions on this rather tired discussion that never seems to just fade away.

EDIT: Kazistuta said it much better than me.

AC was responding to AS's attack. He shouldn't be held responsible for AS's inability to carry out his initial effort. If we're about to fight, you punch me in the face but the momentum of your swing causes you to stumble and fall, should I wait till you get up/reach out my hand to help you up or do I jump on top of you and beat the living daylights out of you?:D

Schleck is among the worst sportsmen i've ever came across. The guy is just a shame for the peleton.

As a sportsman, he should have waited. Like Armstrong waited for Ullrich 2001 and - even more comparable to chaingate - Ullrich waited for Armstrong in 2003, as Ullrich was second to Armstrong in this very moment.

As a professional cyclist, he knew that he would lose the Tour to Schleck if he didn't attack: Schleck had easily dropped AC just a few seconds before the incident and AC was in serious trouble.

I can understand that AC decided to attack. But this attack showed what - among other things which would belong in a different forum - seperates AC from the true champions of the sport: He is just a (very) talented rider, not a champion.

if they had waited for conti when he was involved in a crash on the cobbles, andreas would have a case but so he sounds just like a ...

Can't believe I am posting this again, but here's the video. At 0:04 there is full frontal shot of Andy in flight, Vino in pursuit and AC in pursuit (left hand side of picture). Andy's chain is still on (doesn't come off until 0:09). So, AC didn't attack after Andys chain was off. What he didn't do was stop his response to Andy's attack.

Weak and pathetic

This sounds like a pathetic attempt to get fired up and sound intimidating. He just sounds like a little boy who has been picked on.
Despite having ability he has no killer instinct so doesn't win much. He then spends a lot of time moaning about how unfair it all is.
He should stop mucking about waiting for FS, talk smack properly in the press like Muhammad Ali if he is going to try sound intimidating and ride like a guy that wants to win.
Most people of sick of Contador winning the GT so easily and they want a decent rival and not some niceguy who just goes through the motions to get 2nd.
It is noticeable how much less respect AS gets from posts in this forum in the last year.

Whiney Andy needed a sound bite..... "I forgive but i don't forget"....Yawn, grow up Andy for heavens sake. We can't forget about it because he keeps whining on about it.

What will he say on the second step this year....."mummy mummy why won't they let me have a turn on the big step"

I don't think this statement is accurate. For starters, attacking at that point was not really very effective unless you though your opponent had totally broken, since they were almost at the top of the mountain already followed by a descent into the finish, where Schleck could not have taken much time out of Contador. Contador was at the back of the group for whatever reason, but he was still fresh and he was certainly not "dropped". But even if Schleck's attack had succeeded, it wouldn't have been a game-changer.

And secondly, in hindsight it may be that that the "chaingate" seconds were crucial to Contador's victory, but at the time everyone thought Contador would probably win minutes on Schleck in the TT (which he didn't, but that was a surprise). There's no way Contador felt desperate at that point.

LOL, exactly. Someone needs to teach this crybaby a lesson in humility. It doesn't have to be Contador. Anyone, really.
