It might've been a joke? Haven't seen this, but I highly doubt he was being serious.

I saw the interview on Versus (if I recall correctly) and he was very serious. I thought it was pretty ballsy to say after having gotten dropped on Arcalis, but I guess he has to tell himself something otherwise why clip into his pedals?

I've always thought there is something quietly sinister about the Schleck brothers. They seem like the type of kids that might commit a Columbine High style massacre. Everyone would be saying afterwards that they were just nice quiet kids who they thought would never do anything like that in a million years.

That made me laugh out loud. hahaha. As far as him saying he's the best climber, think about some of the stuff LA says day in and day out. He's young. I said some stupid stuff at that age and there were no cameras or chicks wanting my autograph. lol:D

I like Andy's easy going demeanor and for whatever reason Contador just rubs me the wrong way. I for some reason can't wait for the day when someone crushes Contadope on a climb to win a GT. I hope it is someone like Cadel that does it or a young rider.

i cant make up my mind about it.. personally im not sure i see him as a tour rider.. i like watching him in the classics, and think i enjoy watching him as a one day specialist..

does he excite me in grand tours, i dont know, i almost dont see him as an individual but as a cog on the saxo wheel.. i think at the moment for me, he is a part of saxo, rather than an individual.. could he win a tour on a week team, NO, can he win a grand tour with a strong saxo supporting him, YES..

He was second in this Tour de France, second in the 2007 Giro and last year, apart from the Hautacam stage, he was very good in the Tour mountains. So, I don't understand why you don't see him as a GT rider.

I get a kick out of how fans think everyone but 'their guy' is a doper. If I am to infer that since you like Schleck, then Contador beat him as a doper but Schleck is just a clean little lamb. I wish someone near the top of GC was clean, but the bio-passport has sort of corralled doping into a region of acceptable cheating. It's like detente was in the 1970's during the cold war.

I like them both, but I like AC more. I can understand how AC's aloofness can be disconcerting. Hard not to like the Schlecks.

Unless you think they are creepy like Columbine mass murderers. Sheesh. That was a bit sickening and overwrought.

Maybe because he clearly lacks a good TT skill? If the Tour had the TT kms it used to have, Andy would have no option to beat AC, and he might even suffer a lot to get a podium. But I see him as a GT rider though, because he has time to improve.

Maybe that's just a subconscious association, ever since you saw that Saxo Bank was switching to a 'trench coat' style kit for next year...

Yeah, I dunno, he does seem to say stuff occasionally that really doesn't gel with his general demeanour and what have you. I dunno about joking, but I often get the impression that he's trying to play mindgames with people, but he just really sucks at it? IDK, maybe he should have gone to Retirement Shack after all, maybe Lance would have taught him something about it.

Mind games or not though, his comments on Sastre were decidedly uncool.

I think Andy has a very dry wit combined with not-so-great English skills, and things don't always come out quite right. But I'm biased - I really like the guy and think he's funny.

+1 on the Sastre comments being uncool, though.
