There have been a series of reports regarding Kohl's Bike Shop:

1) He never opened a bike shop. He was only "thinking about" opening one.

2) He was seen working in a bike shop but it was owned by someone else.

3) There was a bike shop with the sign "BK's Bike Shop" but it was never proven to be his.

4) There was a bike shop with same name as Kohl's dog, but that was purely coincidental.

5) Other teammates accused Kohl of owning a bike shop but, as you say, there seems to be no proof of that bike shop.

6) Even though Bernard Kohl has insisted that the only way to podium in a Grand Tour is by owning a bike shop--
....Sastre, Contador, Schleck, Evans and Menchov do not own bike shops.

7) Lance Armstrong does, in fact, own a bike shop.

Contador owns a bike shop. It's just really, really small, and it's still not open, a year after he bought it. And anyway, he claims it's a butchers.

I haven't been there since it's almost exactly on the other side of the city but as far as I know it does exist. I don't know if he works there and if he actually owns the store of just lends his name, but there is in fact such a store.

The FitStore 24-Bikepalast Kohl (doesn't that sound like a cycling team?) is up, running and has various offers and they're continually bringing new stock in.

According to the man himself, they will be showing the TdF on screens in the store for people to go in and watch, and maybe even discuss the race with Bernhard if the opportunity arises. That's what they did last year.

Schleck doesn't own a bike shop. There seemed to be clear evidence of him making a down payment on one, but the money was actually used for consulting services provided by the shop's owner.

Evans doesn't need his own bike shop; with all of his teammates and managers already running their own shops, it's a pretty crowded market.

Lance Armstrong has never ever ever owned a bike shop. Apart from those 7 bike shops in 1999, and the bike shop in Switzerland, and the Bike Shops that Betsy says she heard him talk about.

Contador claims he never owned a bike shop but for some reason his name was found in the files of a parts supplier.

Zabel said that he experimented with owning a bike shop in 1996 but it made him unwell so he never owned another one.

Sadly, in some countries with less stringent child-labor laws, some parents have encouraged their kids to open their very own bike shops. Of course the parents would have to manage the finances. It would ultimately be a "family business."

So why are the Feds looking into the whole bike shop thing at the moment??
I mean it seems like a waste of taxpayers money. And after all, bike shops have done so much good for so many people...

Riccardo Ricco kept materials to build a Bikeshop in his own house, turned out the cement & plastering material hadnt been stored properly & when he had the thing almost finished the roof of the new bikeshop fell in on top of him. He's lucky to be alive.
He owned a Bikeshop previously that his Girlfriend worked in too.

Andreas Kloeden and Denis Menchov own bike shops, but no one can ever seem to find them when they set out looking for them. Strange business model, indeed.

Evans has tried a few times to open a bike shop, but he can't get the support staff and keeps being priced out of business by a cartel of bike shop owners getting shady parts flown in from Spain.

Cartel for Cadel in 11:D!
