I guess you are being sarcastic, and I know the field isn't much. But I'm telling you even in a full on WT field there will be very few who can beat MvdP on such a particular finish as this.

I'm willing to believe he can crack the top-5 on a very good day, not that he's nigh on impossible to beat. Not until I see him actually beat a top quality puncheur.

Indeed, claims like DT make after MvdP beating a bunch of 2nd and 3rd tier are ridiculous. Mathieu seems to have it in him, but I first want to see him compete vs a real puncheur before I judge him.

MVP won so easily that any talk of “ he needs to do it against real competition” is a bit silly. Any other of the top guys wouldn’t have won more easily than that. He’s legit, clearly.

Kristian Aasvold - if not for the crash yesterday ... he was looking good. Good luck on stage 2!

Mathieu getting dropped by Fuglsang.

He's getting dropped by basically everyone now. Pedalling squares.
When Mathieu is bad, he is really, really bad. All in or all out, there seems to be no in between.

No wonder he ain't interested in GT's. Would just be a waste of time to focus on that.

Sometimes I get annoyed when Danish TV2 shows some meaningless silliness when they're supposed to be transmitting a race, but OH my god the Norwegian TV2 is a trillion times worse. Why the hell would I want an interview with an old man in a boat (at the roadside, no less) 12 kilometres from the finish?

Was it Joyce who won?

Edit: It was. Think he will get the leaders jersey as well. Nice result for Rally Cycling.

Edit 2: He is one second behind Chernetski, who leads the race.
