Today there is a meeting with the people of Svalbard(!) to present plans for a stage of the Arctic Race of Norway. The guys behind this race are insane. The logistics of it sounds like a nightmare. But I´ll watch it:D
Are there even enough paved roads up there to host a cycling race, serious question?

The name sounded vaguely familiar....

Okay if they do that they should go crazy with it and do it in the midnight sun

Yeah, to be fair there probably is enough there to get a crit circuit up around the church and back down the main street. Perhaps enough of the main road to the airport for a prologue-style TT. You couldn't say it's worth the logistics hassle from a racing pov, but would be a great publicity gimmick to take pro cycling all the way up there, a truly global sport :cool:
