Just one day left before the first edition of Arctic Race of Norway starts:
http://www.arctic-race.com/

There is a big chance most of the stages will end up as sprint stages so Thor Hushovd is obviously one of the favourites along with Boy van Poppel, unfortunatly Alexander Kristoff got sick with pneumonia so he could not start.

This will be a nice chance for people from the north of Norway to finally get some real cycling action north of the arctic circle.

Hushovd did a cycling ride with some local cyclist yesterday and there was this boy in a BMC jersey who was interviewed by the journalists who was asked if he wanted to be as good as Hushovd, and he said I probably will be better than him so nothing wrong with that boys confidence. You can see a photo of the ride on this link:

If the weather is good for the next days here in North of Norway there can be some really epic tv pictures, on the other hand if is bad weather will be pretty boring. I reallly look forward for this and can not wait for the start tomorrow.

The scenery will be brilliant to watch but in racing terms, it looks like a longer version of the World Ports Classic.

Good for BMC. They're really dominating these big races. They should put TJ in Leipheimers Gran Fondo while they're at it.

Tomorrow's stage could be interesting though.

It's just a pity that there aren't many topsprinters in Norway. All these flat stages would have been interesting with some great sprinters.

If Markus has his Qatar-form, he could finally take a win...

So four stages where bunch sprints are very likely? Well, no doubt the organizer wants to give the local fastmen some good chances, but at this stage of the season better variance will be needed to suck the viewers to the screen methinks.

I will likely switch the TV on for the last 10km of each stage.

Hushovd and EBH will each take two wins.

The parcour is very meh but hopefully they can improve on that in future editions. There must be some hills nearby at least.

Though it will be interesting to see if Sondre Holst Enger can perform well again like he did in Glava Tour of Norway in May.

Yes Sondre will most probably get the young jersey and get a stage. Thor will win overall + points jersey

Ahlstrand 6th. It's in races like this, he has a chance to win. He should grab these chances, like Van Hummel does. I expected more from him this year.
