Well thats made lance a few more dollars.
Read an interesting article while we were on holiday about the renegotiated livestrong/nike deal.
Cant remember the exact details, the article is in a box somewhere but equated to something like
over the last 5 years livestrong made $50m profit from merchandise (i am just putting in rough figures) and took all profits from merchandise
under the new deal, nike pay livestrong $30m for the rights to sell it over a four year period, and any profits over the $30m are split between nike, livestrong, and yes, youve guessed it, lance, who gets a profit share "equivalant to many other leading sportsmen receive as commision on merchandise"
will dig out the full article, but basically under the new deal, both lance and nike make money from livestrong merchandise sales as opposed to before where livestrong got the profits
dont pull me to bits on the figures, they are purely examples to show that nike has done a deal over 4-5 years for less than livestrong received over the last 5 years.. it could be 100m or 20m i dont remember the exact figures, like i say, the article is in a box somewhere
