We had a small talk yesterday with Fofonov who said that right now a some company is working in Astana camp in Calpe to install radio in the team cars, they will be a vendor of mobile radios as well.

So the truth that Astana is still under construction and there's no a shame of this

maybe I don't understand but isn't there supposed to be a radio ban, so why would radios be installed.

I believe the UCI is going to gradually implement the ban at the Pro Tour level. They were supposed to designate several races this year as radio-free, but as far as I know, they've failed to do so.

One wonders if you have ever ridden a bike, let alone raced. The only way a radio would have helped Davis is if he wanted to listen to music as the other riders rode away from him.

No, actually field spits are one of the most obvious problems radios can help overcome.
If you don't know that, or you can't imagine how it would, it just shows your own ignorance.
And yes I have raced in crits against teams that used radios and have heard riders and directors specifically address the subject.

I think half the time you don't even believe your own bs and just love to troll.

This is far from a done deal. UCI somehow claims broad support for it when in fact the vast majority of riders and directors are against it.

I think if you asked, it would be hard to find a rider who couldn't claim his a$$ had be saved at some time or another by something they heard on the radio.

I know of no races this year where they are banned and I doubt very seriously they'll try it again in the tour.

In this specific case, a radio would have made no difference for Davis. You do realize this, yes?

I think we can all agree that he doesnt.

Btw is this the same carboncrank that was banned from here some months back?

Well interestingly a number of ProTour riders have spoken out in support of banning team radios. Radios are banned this year in lower level than Protour races check out uci.ch to find out if you will be affected as I imagine that you are a pro rider in the states.

He's a pro rider in his dreams.
