It'll be the TdF unless an Englishman is leading the Open (even though golf is the BBCs and ITV is the cycling). Heck, with "Bradley Wiggins: A Very British Champion" being shown on a little bit prematurely on ITV4 tomorrow, the BBC might announce him champion on Saturdays news. :D

Really depends on what is going on in the Open, whether Westwood, Donald, Rose and co. actually performed (unlikely considering it is a major)
Even so considering that there have been 9 days of cycling being the double page feature on the opening pages of the Times I would fancy the Tour.

My main concern is that the BBC show very little sport nowadays, and the Open golf is a key part of that very little.

And they never seem to show much shame at hyping whatever they do show - they still try to pretend BDO darts is above pub level.

It will be the Tour. I think it could even be main story full stop. Its the only thing that could get cycling there however. Even a mere podium would be seen as less worthy than some football transfer rumours.

Ps can anyone record the cycling section that day as i will be out of the country and hence bbc i player unavailable.

Well ITV appear to have flown another crew down to the Tour, so I think the Beeb will also have to get on board.

What is British Open btw?
Or the Open.

One of the Major Golf tournaments.

BBC News will be: (presuming the Brits do well)

Golf
F1
Cricket
Cycling

Hopefully the Sunday after it will be:
Cycling
Cycling
Cycling

:)

I'm wondering if the coverage of the final stage might be changed from ITV4 to ITV1.

With its larger TV audience I would normally expect it to be the Open.

However, with everything else being controlled and planned by Sky at the moment, and in the same way the BBC Sports Personailty was fixed for Cav, I would not be surprised if it is the Tour

A week before the opening medal event the Olympic Road Race - lead story (unfortunately:p) Wiggins in Yellow, Cav takes the stage (with a yellow lead out).

And a quote from Wiggins saying he's planning on repaying Cav for foregoing tour team leadership by ensuring he is delivered to the line for Britain's first gold of the Olympics.

I would have thought it would be the Tour, as it does seem to be getting quite a lot of hype on the news at the moment. If Westwood or someone British wins the Open it could be reveresed.
