I wonder if SD-Worx tried their usual let the break go and refuse to work trick, and it finally came back to bite them.

SDW don't have the favourite here, which we can clearly see now, so that tactic wasn't wrong for them today. As I also posted about last year, they should have signed Claes ;)

It's been an ordinary day for cycling. A dispappointing race at the men's Omloop, group being sent the wrong way in the final at Faux Ardeche and a shocking race at the women's Omloop. At least we know the sun will come up tomorrow.

Finally, I have posted for 18 months that you need to make SD Worx to ride at the front, however, you need tr try to slip a rider into the break.

Always watch women's CX and MTB over men's, because it's so much more competitive and entertaining. But the road racing often seems the opposite for various reasons, and this is a nadir. Teams looking at each other pretty much from the start. Much more afraid of losing, rather than winning?

Weirdest sprint of 2 empty riders. Glad it goes to a Belgian rider. Hope Mieke can get her top 5.

always been the way because one team has always been so dominant if you on the other teams ever chased a break, theyd just follow you and beat you in the sprint, so yep always let them do the chasing if they want the win, and the dominant team got comfortable with that setup as eventually someone on the other teams would do the pulling.

but it may change this year as other teams realise theres more chances available as the once dominant team, isnt anymore.

I guess you could say she’s not found herself in that position very often…but honestly it was baffling!

yeah it seemed naive tactics to race like that, at first maybe fair enough to do that if she thought she had the legs to get to the finish, she had the beating of Claes for the first 500m for sure, but youve got a 3min+ lead, and its just between you two,why empty the tank like that so far before the finish line.

I am looking at two or three teams who should have been at this race. An opportunity missed1

I’ve watched the race on that steeper section the last years but was riding myself now the sun was shining.

Expected more from Van Der Duin in the sprint.

Was thinking about going to Le Samyn but it’s too far. Better view on the tele.

Behold the Omloop trophy: an antenna, a clothes hanger, and a candlestick all at once:

Interesting comments from Demi, sounds like SDworx plan is to let FDJ do the work for them, rather than concern themselves with what they can achieve by themselves.
