Does anyone know why Hoste was chosen as opposed to any number of other athletes? What did he do to make the UCI mad at him?

What's the deal with demanding damages? That seems like an innovation.

If I were any of Hoste's team managers or support staff I would be looking at that €300,000 with more than a little worry.
