Contador's pistol shot is the most god awful celebration in cycling: so contrived and generic. I prefer spontaneous and honest emotial reactions like the Samu pictures, and I love to see Cav win because each win seems to mean something; he still gets excited and it's never routine. significant.

agreed, contadors wins are so routine to him there's no emotion in them, Cav on the other hand celebrates every win.

I remember a few years back Robbie McEwen did an interesting one where he was doing a salute from the movie Dumb and Dumber. I think it was 2006. That was a good one. Sastre's dummy in his mouth was ridiculous.

My least favorite ever was Spartacus kissing that little angel on his roll-in at P-R and was it Flanders too? Really pandering to the teen girl audience. Before races, officials should forget about trying to find electric motors and focus on confiscating Fab's little angels.

Actually this specific one is one of my favorites, since the little angel was something his daughter gave him for good luck, prior to the race.

The Mark Cavendish HTC phone was awesome, thanks I forgot all about it!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the video with Mauricio Ardila in Vuelta'05. :( It was funny. :)

That one looks like he is trying to have a crap  That would be in my worst pile. (Waiting for people to criticise cadel's salutes after this post)

You can't really criticise Cadel's celebrations as he doesn't really do them. Or just looks like he hasn't got a clue what to do ;)

Neil Stephens from the 1997 Tour miming the action of rocking a baby (he'd just become a father).
Felix Cardenas in the 2001 Tour doing an out of the saddle, no hands salute (he almost fell off).
Richard Virenque's Paris-Tours win in 2001 when he just managed to hold of the sprinter following a 200+km breakaway. His usual finger in the air but a lot of emotion with it as it was his first win after his suspension.

I liked the emotion this one caused for Cav

Also Hausslers' win was so nice

I struggle with the idea of a signature celebration. When someone wins, people want to see something genuine and spontaneous. If a rider's response is going to be the same every time, why should I bother watching?

Signature celebrations are just forced.
I fondly recall Haussler's celebration in the 2009 tour.
I guess Samu's are a signature in how they're all so purely emotional.

...in most cases so true....which is why Oscarito's finishes are so cool, the emotion he exhibits always puts a smile on my face...

Cheers
