Thankyou for saving Ronde.

What a great race, epic final 15km :)

I apologize if some find this thread pointless, but they deserve their props.

If Kroon was still there they would have had 8 guys there. Too bad Ballan couldn't finish it. And fuck him for chasing down Langeveld. :D

Mad props to BMC for what they did today. I think they gave the rest of the peloton hope when they were resigned to riding for third. Ballan was a beast all day and Big George too.

They destroyed their own team for a greater good. Ballan was very strong. There were a handful of guys who liked really good today... Ballan, Nuyens, Chav, Boonen, Gilbert, Langeveld, Leukemans...

Thanks BMC! They looked great. I know they didn't really get a great result but I hope they all enjoy a beer together because that's a real classics team.

Go BMC. I am very proud of them. They didn't wheel suck like Lotto, Sky and especially garmin did.

Get the **** out, Sky worked all day. If it wasn't for Super G then Big George wouldn't have had his fifth place.

I disagree with the negativity on sky, the were always amongst the breaks. Would be ridiculousness to chase your own men. And Gilbert was pretty aggressive also, the rest of lotto is transparent.

They had a guy in the break. They had a few guys yet let the other teams chase.

BMC done well today, when they had 7 guys at the front the gap came down but they burned 3 guys very quickly and the gap started to go out again, I think it was when a few other teams joined in that the gap came down super quick, it was BMC that instigated it though.

But lets not forget when BMC went on their crazy spending spree a few seasons back, it was their Classics division that looked stronger with Hincapie, Ballan, Kroon, Burghardt and they have since added Van Avemaert so its a case of finally living up to expectations. Something Garmin need to do now.

I thought SKY were very active today, Rabobank, Vacansoleil also, I think Omega Pharma were weak with only Gilbert visible for the last 40km.

BMC today looked like a huge huge d*** pumping up heavily before finish, but that then shrinked short before entering heaven. :D

Agreed. Other teams put some on the front, and Cancellera and Chavenel both had a bad patch and lost time quick as soon as the climb started.

They did not podium but having that many guys factor into the last 30km of the race is a good sign that they are on form. At PR next week a strong team is huge....chasing back after mechanicals, closing gaps, and having multiple guys in the finale are key.

so hard for regroups to occur at pr tho, one thing I like about pr is how hard it is for teams to control the race. Things can just go so wrong.

Great to see BMC take responsibility to bring back the break and make a race of it. They didn't manage to do it all themselves, but without their impetus, Canc and Chav might have stayed away.

Really impressed with Van Avermaet. Hope he can get a result for himself or for Ballan at PR next Sunday.

Sky was pretty active, was it Hunt who was in the break first? Then EBH. Both Geraint and Flecha did some attacks as did Stannard and Hayman (according to the Sky-website).

Letting 6 of 9 guys attack is pretty OK in my book. OFC, BMC was superb but Sky was surely a race animator.

Well lets be honest, what were they supposed to do? They've got a strong classics squad and virtually their entire team was there. It was their job. That said, I'm glad they didn't shirk from their duty as it made for a much moire exciting race.
