Makes little sense.

Why not? He can do the Tour and the Olympics, most of the other leading contenders are. It's pretty obvious he just fancies himself to pick up lots of world ranking points in Poland. He's clearly worried that he will lose his number one spot to Wiggins after he has won the Dauphine and the Tour. You wait and see, I bet he will do the Eneco too.

First of all, Boonen can't even win the Tour de Pologne. Second of all, Wiggins won't win the Tour. Third of all, he's doing it to prepare for the Olympics.

I can see by the comments about Boonen that you have in all your posts that you don't rate the guy. I'm a fan though and I think he could easily win in Poland. It's all about opinions though. I don't fancy him for the Olympic road race one little bit though.

No, he's an older member's sockpuppet.

Should be fairly easy to trace him back to another member using an excessive amount of "thoughs".

what's that?

Making a different account to troll/annoy people because they don't know who you really are. I think I just unleashed a terrible evil on CN by explaining this to you. :p

I've only been on here as me. Anyway, I have no wish to offend or upset people so I shall not comment on this matter any further.

Maybe Boonen like Scarponi and a few others is smart enough to not get lured by the tour. There is plenty of good cycling outside of it and its sad that more riders don't realize that.

interesting... but:

isn't it useless? i mean, what about IP adresses and such things? and what is the purpose of trolling just for the sake of it?

about tom:

smart choice. i wish canc would do the same instead of doing nanny jobs.

Don't forget that Boonen has started his season already in Februari in Argentina and the season is still long for him. His targets are Spring classics, Olympics and the road world Championships.

Thus sprinting for second behind Cavendish in the Tour is not really going to give him a mental boost, and is not exactly the best preparation to be fresh at the Olympics, let alone having to peak again at the WC in Valkenburg late September.
