I looked at some of the old USPS roster and remember Boonen was on the team for awhile. Why hasn't he been implicated in any of the doping mess the team been in?

He was the only rider to get better after leaving so they decided to let him be. By not being a threat to Lance he was allowed to dope at will without UCI intervention.

He was pretty good while at USPS and represented an undisciplined threat to LA's and the Hog's authority. He was also the most blatant partier emphasizing his newly realized "manliness" as a result of the USPS training supplements. He was destined to be a major distraction or an ex-USPS. We know how it worked out: he got the full dose rather than LA's rations of the paper bags. UCI would have a problem busting the new Belgian Crown Prince. Look how long it took to catch up to Museuw.

Because Boonen was a classics rider, Armstrong and The Hog probably didn't even know who he was. Most likely they thought Boonen was a trainee mechanic or soigneur or something

actually, Hog and Armstrong got p!$sed when he wanted to break his contract and leave. or did he ride it out?

remember the firstRoubaix, did he come 4th?

was that the one where Hincapie stuffed up and broke his stem and Boonen waited for him otherwise Boonen was in the move and would have made the podium.

then he went to QS. And thats it

This is quite true. They were getting a healthy tailwind during the Grande Boucle from the UCI and even at times from ASO. The rest of the calendar seemed pretty unimportant. Doping was rampant.

Anyone would get tired supporting Clown School dropouts like Hincapie and STILL get third at Paris Roubaix.

no, his first Roubaix was in 2002, when Hincapie fell in the ditch, and he was 3rd. it was maybe the last rainy Roubaix
Hincapie broken stem/fork was in 2006

Man, I miss rainy P-R's. Here's to hoping for this year...

People seem to forget Boonen was a first year pro so probably wasn't put on the Postal program, especially considering he was a classics riders which they didn't really care about. Maybe Boonen had his own personal thing going on but he was sure good from the start. 3rd at P-R in your debut.

He was there for just one year, as a neo-pro, no GT's or anything
It's more surprising that Devolder was never named

Belgium is no doubt one of the most doping apologetic countries, wrt cycling perhaps the most apologetic. They simply don't care, don't wanna know.
Happily, willingly and knowingly see doping through the fingers.
What have they done to track down and/or file charges against Bruyneel?
What have they done with Leinders?
ffs...
