This is not a race he lost.he lost the race by thinking he is the energizer bunny throughout.
Bearing Remco in sprint is just a clear results deviationRemco got absolutely robbed. Judging by his reaction you could easily tell that he would have won the race, if one of the other riders had not made a minor interference in the sprint.
why should he pull in a group with three riders from ineos?Glad Wellens didn't win this. What a lousy 10 km from him. First completely unwilling to pull and then that sprint........
He just said he was feeling cr*p.I don't get why Pidcock never sprints for minor placings.
If he along with Remco and Cosnefroy at least tried, they could had a chance in the last hill. But he ended up sabotaging that group even more than the two remianing Ineos riders.why should he pull in a group with three riders from ineos?
Mature, honest and sensible interview. Came across really well.Nice to see Remco being realistic about his cobbled classics chances.

Wellens relegated for that sprint... from third to fourth, so not a disaster for LTS.
Barguil on the podium as a result despite being the eighth-strongest rider in the race.

Yeah, just saw the replay. It was actually quite bad. I completely understand the initial frustration from Remco but there was really no need to keep gesturing all the way past the line.he lost the race by thinking he is the energizer bunny throughout.
The sprint interference was not minor

There was just no way to win it (unless he had a teammate with him).
Also raced MTB before that!
All great points. I would have through QS would be better at coaching him through all of this, they're usually so tactically astute. Not getting the input he needs? Not listening? I wonder.so he should not have pulled as soon as he realized he was in a break with three Ineos riders.
he lacked patience and seemed scared the break would be pulled back. he should have been willing to let that break fail in order to get his own teammates back or at least make Ineos work while he did nothing or so when they got pulled back Quickstep could try and wear down Ineos a bit more before launching again.
Instead, he likely did the most work in a break that had three Ineos riders.
Before the race, I posted that his only chance was to break away when Ineos was already depleted. Instead, he actually helped a break where there were three Ineos riders in it.
dumb. just dumb.
and i am a fan.
He was put in danger, i think i saw his rear skid out a bit and he was rightfully pissed and full of adrenaline. He shouldn't be criticized for a bit of gesturing, c'monYeah, just saw the replay.
