Official start: 12.30 pm
Finish: between 17:23 and 17:52
Tomorrow 13/04/2022 semi classic 'de Brabantse Pijl' (UCI 1.Pro ) takes place. Typically the start of the hilly classics, exceptionally the race takes place after Amstel Gold and before Paris Roubaix but that musn't take away any of the fun. If you think of the Brabantse Pijl, you will undoubtedly think of the hilly course around Overijse and Leuven, recently part of the WC in Flanders. However, that route is still relatively new. For decades Alsemberg was the home port of this semi-classic and even earlier the course went to and from Brussels.
Last year Tim Pidcock won, rather suprisingly, a sprint of 3, the others being Van Aert and Trentin.

Since 2008, the Brabantse Pijl has started on the Grote Markt in Leuven. There the riders will be kicked off this year for a race of 204.8 kilometers, a good three kilometers longer than last year.

The exchange of date between Amstel and Roubaix has had an impact on the starters list. Several riders that were in Tour of Basque are starting in Brabantse Pijl, major names include home-rider Remco Evenepoel and former winner and ruling world champion Julian Alaphilippe. Last year winner Tom Pidcock will undoubly be motived to prolong his victory. He has Amstel Gold winner Michal Kwiatowski by his side. Other outsiders include last year 3rd Mateo Trentin, (former?) wunderkid Marc Hirshi, and runner-up in Amstel Gold Benoit Cosnefroy.
Other 1 star outsiders include: Dylan Teuns, Ethan Hayter, Michael Matthews and, for the sake of it, former winner Philippe Gilbert
Noteworthy: Jumbo Visma decided not to start in this race.

- Rue François Dubois (0,9 km at 3,9%)
- Hertstraat (cobbles and 0,7 km at 3,7% )

- 'S-bocht beklimming' (3,7% at 1,3 km)
