So the guy who can't understand why sprinters tend to open their sprints so late decides to follow Cosnefroy (who opened up with 200 to go) and just sat on his wheel and waited to 50 metres to go to try to open...

VDP usually opens up early. He even said he planned to do the same as last year. Go through the corner and open up at 200m

He was so surprised by Cosnefroy going BEFORe the corner that it screwed him. Because immediately Alaphilippe rode next to Cosnefroy. Which in turn blocked VDP. Alaphilippe was smart by only really going full for the last 100m so when the road did open up. It was too late.

Tactically smart by Alaphilippe. VDP simply fudged up. He should have reacted sooner

Strange he was caught off guard by Cosnefroy, because i actually thought Cosnefroy would have attacked earlier, hoping the big boys would hesitate a second by looking at each other. Cosnefroy was never going to win in a normal sprint here.

Alaphilippe proved he's incapable of learning. To me he's looking more and more arrogant.

Wow. MVDP botched that one badly. I guess if you're going to botch one that bad, better it be a smaller race like this - still a missed opportunity though. He's obviously pretty frustrated with himself. As for AP, tremendous racer but mentally he's scattered all over the road with the constant fiddling, going back and forth to the car, the finish line stuff, etc.

Nice race as always. Whenever someone asks me which is my favourite race - Amstel Gold, Fleche Wallone or LBL - I will always say De Brabantse Pijl
