Strange he was caught off guard by Cosnefroy, because i actually thought Cosnefroy would have attacked earlier, hoping the big boys would hesitate a second by looking at each other. Cosnefroy was never going to win in a normal sprint here.VDP usually opens up early. He even said he planned to do the same as last year. Go through the corner and open up at 200m
He was so surprised by Cosnefroy going BEFORe the corner that it screwed him. Because immediately Alaphilippe rode next to Cosnefroy. Which in turn blocked VDP. Alaphilippe was smart by only really going full for the last 100m so when the road did open up. It was too late.
Tactically smart by Alaphilippe. VDP simply fudged up. He should have reacted sooner
