An interesting look at choices we make and why / when we make them.

http://www.ted.com/talks/dan_ariely_on_our_buggy_moral_code.html

"Cheating" comes up and I thought it relevant to the discussion of cheating / doping in cycling.

Everyone agrees that the cost / benefit analysis of being caught doping is good, due to the lack of and almost random catches, and Kohl's confession is testament to this.

What I found interesting is how much people seem to cheat, regardless of risk, and for the gain achieved.

Absolutely brilliant.

The bit saying that lots of people cheat just a little bit, because cheating is related to how people see themselves rather than the risks of being caught, was truly fascinating.

The points about cheating declining when people are reminded about morality, but increasing when members of the 'in crowd' are doing it or the financial rewards are remote, seem very relevant to cycling.

Well done - a really interesting video.

As "I Watch Cycling In July" pointed out the 'just a little cheating' is an intriguiging concept.
