Cav NOT speaking with media after Milan-San Remo

I like the guy and I think he has done wonders for the sport. OK, he had a bad day, a really bad day. But as World-Champion, NOT speaking to the media at all afterwards will not win him any more fans. Hiding in the luxury team bus is not the way of a true champion. I have watched many times great athletes Federer, Graf, Nadal, Jordan, Bolt .. etc lose and yet come out and explain all to their fans. Top marks to Eisel though for explaining things at the end of the race.

So far I'm right in my prediction that our World Champion will drop on every hill :D

Paris-Tours and now Milan-San Remo. Is our great champ riding the Ronde van Vlaanderen again?

A tweet from him this morning:

Should be filed under being too fat. Kid is fast but winning 58 flat stages of the Tour and nothing else will make him the world host boring.

Rather than sticking it to Gerrans Cav needs a boot in the head.

One of the journalists at Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne said Cavendish was still too fat by the way, around 5 kilograms overweight according to him. That may be a reason :)

It's even more pathetic that Sky hasn't even admitted that their tactics were a huge fail yesterday. So far they've just said it was bad luck that Cav had a horrible day. But EBH said that the plan always was that if Cavendish were dropped, the entire team except from Löfkvist would wait for him - no matter when in the race it happened, and no matter by how much he was distanced.

How a team of such high standards can be so tactically *** is beyond me. EBH was almost as big a favourite as Cavendish was and should've had almost as many teammates. Instead they left him with a Swedish climber who just recovered from sickness...

He is a "true" champion though. Just takes a little longer for him to settle down from dissapointment and let go of the frustation. Also him being Cav I think it’s better he doesn’t speak to media in that state. If he gets pushed he might say things he later regret and then we have another thread “A world champion shouldn’t use such words…” ;)

From what i can see, Box Hill rises just over 100 metres in about 2.5km whereas La Manie rises 300 metres in 4.7km?

Mate don't ever compare Boxy to anything Italy. Not the same. Box Hill is a piece of p1ss. I ride it with one leg tied behind my back.

I feel bad for EBH. He will have very little support from Sky whenever he is lined up with Cav.

I don't know how long his contract runs but he now needs to look for a team where he's the man.

He resigned after it was obvious Cav was coming. MSR is the only major race they are potential rivals.

It is very good for Eddy's career he isn't going to be used as a GT sprinter anymore.

I'm sure whatever happened yesterday will be covered in the second volume of his autobiography (due out next year), Pouty Little Boy Racer.

You clearly know everything so you must be either a top rider or a successful DS.

Surely you cannot be just an internet forum armchair expert?

Absolutely. As far as I'm concerned, no one who isn't actually in the race or in a car supporting the race has the slightest right to make any comments on the race. The problem is that these armchair-experts think that because they watched the race, they have the right to an opinion. The only way to fix this, and clearly it needs to be done ASAP, is make it illegal for anyone who isn't in the race to watch the race. I don't understand why this hasn't been done already.

With that attitude, why do you even bother reading internet forums?
