It would appear Cookson has not called off the Swiss Lawyers from pursuing Kimmage.

Wonder how long it will take Cooskson to call of the Swiss dobermans?

i just saw this.

if cookson doesn'T act upon this, that doesn't bode well for his presidency.

I have asked him this question about 6 or 7 times on his twitter account and every one of them has been met with silence.

For me, silence speaks volumes.

Perhaps Aaron Brown has jumped the gun in refunding the fund?

Also interesting is the Floyd Question. Is Cookson going to renounce the UCI's judgment against Floyd?

Yes, I would hope that Cookson would sort that.

I wasn't a Cookson supporter, and would rather someone else had run against Pat. The Makarov/Weisel/Plant support is a big worry. But McQuaid was so horrible. He just had to go, for the sport to have any chance of a fresh start.

So for now, I'm gonna follow Kimmage's example and be cautiously optimistic. Give Cookson a chance to make good on his promises. Watch him, and screech about it later if he turns out to be just another corrupt sports bureaucrat, but give him a chance to do right first.

What a difference already. They were attacking Kimmage because he was right about the corruption. This sends a good signal IMO.

Yip, that and keeping all the other media on notice too.

What for me is interesting is the case has not yet been dropped. But Cookson sought out PK to let him no it will be. Add to that he contacted him personally and it would seem explained what happened originally is encouraging.

Good.

Now let's see him now reach out to Landis.

Now that would be interesting. With Floyd's situation placing him at odds with Weisel/USAC/etc, some sort of apology from Cookson/UCI to Floyd would be veeeeery interesting indeed.

Don't see that happening.
As he didn't fight it, the case against Landis has already been determined by a Swiss Court.

Better than an apology would be a proper investigation that reveals he was correct.

I think odds for a Chinese TdF champion in the next 20 years to be at 101%.

Also, im sure none of you would be suited for a public job where diplomacy in declarations is a must.
I would put it about 0%.

If they could not gift Liu Xiang the gold in Beijing, no chance they do what the Japanese never showed any interest in.

Fraud and Corruption firm working for Cookson siezed the UCI's computers minutes after he was elected to make sure nothing was destroyed that shouldn't be. Gotta say Brian is doing a heck of a job and I hope that anything to do with any criminal actions is handed over to the Swiss Federal Police, Europol and the FBI asap.

No. And again no.

Brian is doing a "heck of a job" PR-wise, but until something concrete and truly transparent is released, that's all he is doing.

Brailsford has been claiming transparency for years now, and delivered: none.

They come from the same stable, so I'll disagree with anyone saying this PR article is actual "good work."

I hope he wiped the Froome data.

Not like McQuaid would have erased anything untoward in the 6 months previous.

Lightening fast that Cookson

I don't believe they stored any incriminating evidence on the computers in the first place. When you read about the dodgy things going on, you read 2 things:

1. LA visiting Switzerland (face to face)
2. UCI calling Tyler Hamilton (phone call)

No computer-based communication or method is mentioned in any of these stories.
