Helping his good mate out so Porte returns the favour in whatever Froome does next season.
Yup, and there is nothing wrong with a visit to
Australia this time of year. Tim Kerrison may be
around as well. I just hope Richie and the Dawg
stay away from the roads around Devonport
where Macey Stewart got knocked off last week.

Sissy wants to take on a tired Alberto at the Tour and can dodge him in the Vuelta. Maximizes his chances for sure.

Maybe you should go trolling on Contador thread:rolleyes:

L'Equipe says he does not do the Giro. You can't see the whole article but I read Team Sky said something like " cold weather and Chris' allergy " concerning the Giro.

Team Sky cutting Froome's balls :(

chris has absolutely 0 % chance to win il giro ever. it's simply not suited to him at all. cold weather, rain. tricky roads big time. he would not survive the first 10 days of racing,i always said that.
wise and logical decision to go to the races he's suited for. hopefully he will be strong again.

I was hopping he would skip Le Tour in 2015 and go for Giro-Vuelta but looks like this time the team management is forcing him for Le Tour.Since Sky had a crap season,i couldn't blame them from trying to exploit the most important GT,but really TDF 2015 should have been skipped by all 4 GT contenders, that route is horrible.

that is one day and the race is pretty much over

giro is 3 weeks mainly of cold. the roads, the hilly stages of 270 kms, he should stay away far from it in my opinion. tour-vuelta, best option for him by far

Still i don't believe in these excuses these guys are pro, they can ride in any conditions ,they train in all type of weather. It's the same excuse used for Wiggo in that Giro, ffs Wiggo is the only British guy who can't ride in the rain wtf
Tour route is so crap that is suited perfect for Valverde and Purito,Giro looks a lot better for a strong climber/TT-er like Froome, but i guess Contador will be very happy, one rival less.

More like AC will never win another tdf ever and certainly not one that favors the strongest climbers so he has to go cherry pick lesser races that feature diminished talent pools and favorable parcours

Froome is riding the tour because its the race for the top dawgs.

Of course AC is the best climber right now (and if you disagree you can't put him below 2nd best), but even if this wasn't the case, AC decided to ride the Giro before he saw the Tour route.

Why are Berties fanboys and girls trolling the Froome thread, have they got bored with Nibali:eek:

Probably has something to do with this:

Thursday’s edition of L’Équipe reports that Froome has been dissuaded from riding the Giro due to the effects the potentially cold and wet conditions in Italy in May might have on his asthma and allergies. It is also understood that Froome is reluctant to miss out on a high-profile clash with Alberto Contador, Vincenzo Nibali and Nairo Quintana at the Tour in July.

Seriously, that's pretty pathetic by Sky. He's a road racer. Being able to ride in bad weather and cold on less than boulevard roads really does come with the territory. Sky are making him sound like such a fragile flower. If it is the case that he can't cope with anything less than optimal conditions, he should be in the velodrome.

That's it! He can ride track with Wiggo. He can even join Wiggin's development team. :D

Sometimes, I think the TeamSky management should have stuck to an environment where they didn't have to deal with, well, environment. It has this pesky way of getting out of control and not doing what it is suppose to.

Don't get me wrong, I can totally understand that they want to go for the races which best suit their riders, but Sky really didn't do Froome any favours by giving such whiny sounding excuses. Sky really are a PR disaster area sometimes.

May is indeed very bad for anyone suffering from asthma/allergies, but doesn't the cold and wet conditions help in that case?
