Froome to GCN you heard it first
People have complained about the lack of former GC riders among their commentators.

I'd like to know whether he writes his own material or if he has a team of skilled comedians to help him.

I still think it's a shame he doesn't get to ride the Tour,

He is 38 and is talking about 2024 ? Delusional; to the highest order !!!

Why is he hanging around the back of the peloton ? He cant need the money
And what team is going to pay for him in 2024 and bring him to the Tour

If he had retired by now he'd be remembered in a more positive light

Every rider must find it hard to retire and to acknowledge there is no going back but this is insane

Must we all be privy to this fantasy

I cant really see what else he can say at this stage other than respect the teams decision, take time to refocus on other objectives this season, then focus on next years race, its been mentioned in a couple of articles his contract at IPT actually extends to 2025, though whether thats set in stone, or the result of options the team can take and extend thru to 2025 no-ones really too sure.

but unless the retirement word comes into it, then what else should he say ?

Of course. But when explaining why he has performed in a bad way this year he should refrain from blaming his equipment. Pretty pathetic.

I don't think the multiple bike changes in CIC, Rwanda or Occitanie were due to the Factor frame. He seemed to be going pretty well with his KOM on the sault side of the Ventoux recently.

I hope that in a decade or so someone will make a post 2019 Chris Froome documentary. What an unbelievably weird story. I wish Jon Bois was a cycling fan.

Can someone send him a bag of gravel, and maybe he will get the hint to go and play with Valverde and his mate Porte on a different kind of bike.

Goals went from wining the TDF, to Podium the TDF, to wining stages year after year. His actual performance remained water carrier, water carrier, water carrier. Anybody who looks at the trend knows that the writing is on the wall. Surprisingly ISN took 3 years. He was always just in perfect condition as per him. Something else went wrong. Now there are these equipment issues which only happened to him and not other teammates. This is Froome channeling his inner Trump, so it is simply not possible that he did anything wrong and he is the greatest rider of all time now.

Not sure why the level of disingenuousness is any surprise. He’s been gaslighting the cycling world (those gullible enough to buy it anyway) since September of 2011, on a level I’ve never seen before, even by cycling standards.

Equipment problems are very common these days tbh.

First it was OceanGate & Stockton Rush, now Froomey. Maybe he just doesn't trust his carbon fibre road bike anymore.

It appears to me that he is still training as much as he can and hoping to get back to some sort of acceptable fitness. That is kind of admirable that he is willing to do that after what he has achieved. Yes, the money he earns is nice, but still...
The people, on the other hand, here on this forum are kind of sad in the way they are mocking the guy. Have you ever had a goal in life that you worked towards?

This is sad to see, but Father Time is undefeated.

Froome was a great champion, and like many great champions he's finding it really hard to let go. He's always carried himself well and been a positive force for the sport. If it is time for him to move on, he'll be great at whatever he tries next.

It's not admirable at all, many people train as hard or harder without the money or recognition he still (undeservedly) gets. It would help if he didn't play a snake oil salesman and admit he isn't anywhere close to being at the required level for the TDF (or any other WT race, really).
