I eat my words. Froome was impressive.

What is even more so, is that he just road Contador off his wheel!

A 20 % slope help to do that, and even the hight spin of Froome, in long and tend climb is more difficult if you dont have a good aeclereration. But for Froome those climbs suit better.

It's only been 7 months, in the dauphine (early), clearly better than AC

Yes, before the crash he was better in dauphine, and in the first stage of the climb he look great, and in the Vuelta Froome was better in some stages.

Impressive pulling on the front by Roche and Kennaugh for Froome today. Really like Kennaugh, think he's a real honest team worker as shown last year in the mountains in the Vuelta and would make a big addition to the Tour team. Given that Porte and Konig will do the Giro, a fresh Kennaugh may well be a better option than Konig as it would be quite difficult to have two guy's coming off the Giro at full belt come tour time to help Froome in the mountains (Yes I recognize that Saxo had Roche, Majka and Rogers that all did Giro/Tour last year).

Kennaugh is looking very good, hopefully Roche also will find good from for the GTs. Both teams have some great domestiques on hand.

Allways thought pretty highly of Kennaugh, he impressed me during his first Tour in helping Froome in 2013. I'd say he will be a big part of the Sky team this July.

I think the selection depends on how Porte does at the Giro. If Richie has a spectacular Giro and maybe wins, I think Sky will hold him out of the Tour and have him ride the Vuelta to win.

If he finishes outside the Top 5, I would expect to see him at the Tour in support of Froome, meaning Sky would have an absolutely monster team.

Eisel would be good for the first week, though Sivtsov is better for the ttt.
I'd leave Konig out of the squad and July heat if he completes the Giro on a high note, although he's almost the perfect domestique for this year's route.

Wout Poels is definitely under serious consideration for the Tour squad. And Luke Rowe is also on the long list.

Kennaugh is another rider who our friend Ryo Hazuki claimed would never amount to anything. It's not as if he's a star yet or even close but he's developing well and is still only 25.

Sky's GT squads must be by far the most discussed out of all teams!

Ryo even said Froome would not win a Tour at all, or any big race, after Tour of Oman 2013:eek:

Great result Froome, another race too add to the palamares even if it is Andalucia it is still nice to have it. I wish one year he would do Paris Nice though as that is a historical stage race. He has 2 Romandie's right? If he wins this year he will share the record with Stephen Roche.

So Froome's calendar would be

Andalucia
Tirreno
Catalunya
Romandie
Dauphine
Tour

with Oman instead of Andalucia in 2014
and with Crit. International instead of Catalunya in 2013

will he start Liege?

Even by Ryo's standards that's a massive fail after Froome's performances at 2011 Vuelta and 2012 Tour.

I don't think Froome is riding Catalunya. Konig is getting the chance to lead there although I could be wrong. Not sure about LBL.

So from Tirreno to Romandie he has 1 month without racing. last year he rode Catalunya.
Konig can be the captain there while Froome a helper, Porte style

Poels and Porte will ride Pays Basque I guess

I read on twitter that Froome confirmed he'll ride Catalunya.

Tour team IMO
Froome, Porte, Roche, Nieve,Thomas, Stannard, Kiri

Then 2 of the following 3 dependent on form, fit within the team ,etc

Poels
Kennaugh
Konig

I don't think Kennaugh would be as strong in the 3rd week in the mountains as Konig but Konig will have the Giro in his legs. Not sure how Konig is as a dom and he won't have ridden too many races with Froome by July

I am inclined if his form is good to go with Poels as he is a good dom

Both Poels & Roche have talked about helping Froome in the Tour but I have not heard anything from Koing on this subject (although he could have said it)

SKY are in a very good position with so many very good doms for the Tour

And I haven't even mentioned either Henao
