I find it ironic that Chris goes to the Tour with no hope of obtaining anything, but Cav is sidelined with the feasable chance of making history. Weird sport.
You are weird.... and you have no knowledge of cycling. If Cav had been a member of the Israel-team, he would certainly have gone to the Tour. As the only sprinter of the team. With a chance of a few places of honor. And maybe, if all went well, with the chance of that one stage win. But that's impossible in the Quick-Step team. With a sprinter, Jacobsen, who has proven to be the absolute best sprinter of the team this season. In those circumstances, also with the special character of Cav, it is impossible to take him to the Tour alongside Jacobsen. The team would also be short of a helper in the sprint train.
Or a helper during the tough mountain stages to get Jacobsen to the finish in time.

But ISN has no room in the budget for anyone but Froome! The irony lies in this, other than no knowledge of cycling.

Is it the age though? Before his miraculous transformation he was also pack fodder. He used to finish in the bus along with guys like Pozzato on mountain stages.
Name me one ride who an open femur fracture in two places, and bust hip plus other injuries who has returned to his former self/form. Beloki is the prime example and he was never the same again, and a fair bit younger than Froome.

I’m just saying it isn’t that strange to see him perform at this level considering he already was pretty mediocre - until he suddenly wasn’t at the age of 25.

Damn so thin, the washing machine this year will look like the cern hadron collider and make good old dawg turn into his 2013 version, provoking a titanic fight with pogajcar… can only think of godzilla vs kong

Unfortunately, this recovered washing machine is coin operated only and Froome only has a handful of coins left in his career. But, I hope that he can show something in this Tour and not languish with the grupetto.

Unfortunately 2013 Froome gets crushed by Pogacar. Then his biggest rival was a young Quintana, who put him in difficulty on the last mountain. But can we really imagine that a young Quintana troubles Tadej?
