Of course it does not compare to a pro win, a goal he is still seeking entering what may be the final goal of his season, but Froome was able to raise his arms at the end of the Gran Fondo Sun Moon Lake at the end of the 104 mountainous kilometers.

Since there is no more money to lose
I think they'll let him do the last Tour just for nostalgia's sake
and milk some publicity.

I doubt he'll do any major races, at all. He said he wanted to retire after the Vuelta 2025 but come on let's be real, IPT aren't sending a 40 year old Froomey to the Vuelta in August.

He stayed on too long way past the point of no return whereby even 'functional' performance levels are a pipe dream. I bet the money was good though so he's still laughing all the way to the bank.

But it's certainly not a champion's exit.
