well henderson is captain for TdU.. i think that says it all over who has priority.. i expected sutton to be leading the team for that one..

May be that DB and the rest of the team know more about Henderson.. It may also be that Henderson is going to be in australia much earlier and is racing before the TDU for mazda as well so should be in better form..

Henderson lives in Melbourne which is why he's in Australia early, but I'd say that the reason why he's the named leader at the TDU ahead of Sutton and will be Sky's number one sprinter this year is because of his experience and the fact that he has the greater palmares.

when i say in australia early, i mean as opposed to many of the riders who will be in london for the launch on monday and then travelling to australia or spain, henderson has managed to duck the launch party..

Unlikely O'Grady and Robbie will work together on the same team......... unless some scores have been settled.

I get the feeling that it is not all a big happy family amongst some of the aussie riders with some of the incidents in the past especially between Rogers and Evans + O'Grady and Mcewen.

I cant see the worlds finishing in a bunch sprint, maybe a small gruop(20 riders or so)then this will give Davis, gerrans and haussler very good chances............when was the last time a nation had multiple riders on the worlds podium?

Really? How do you figure him being ahead of Henderson?

I guess I just think of Henderson as more of a leadout man, after his time at Columbia (Vuelta stage yes, but that was kinda an unintentionable bonus, since the plan was to lead out Greipel) - but I can see the argument in his favour rather than Sutton.

And here's Hendy's first claim for year for the number 1 spot at Sky ahead of CJ :p:p

Big bump.

Maybe blackcat was just a year off.

Goss struggling since the classics and his Vuelta DNF could ruin his preparation, Haussler still yet to show significant form. If these two don't improve they should get behind CJ.

Gosh we have more sprinter then we know what to do with.

You could pick 9 guys and they'd all have a chance of contesting the last sprint. I don't think you could majorly write off anyone because of the distance. Maybe Matthews but certainly not Goss. Nor CJ if he can get through a searing hot day in the Vuelta like he dud,

Did not see yesterday coming. that was excellent display of smart, strong and savvy sprinting. He was so emotional and his team so far pleased him thats great to see. Has he been confirmed as leaving Sky?

Smart sprinting and riding won that for CJ. Well deserved win. Goss maybe in a bit of trouble with the worlds coming up not long after the Vuelta.

Don't see him leaving Uncle Shane to be honest.

Does his dad have any involvement in GREENedge?

Not as far as I know just heard his name mentioned to them a lot. I think he wants to say and its obvious he's really well liked within the team . As long as he's realistic and understands he will mostly be used in the train and 2nd tier races then they are still a good fit.

Australia has no shortage of good sprinters but they will also need strong guys like O'Grady to work for them. McEwen could miss out again as could Haussler who is not really a bunch sprinter anyway. Sutton will be there but Davis could be on the borderline also. Renshaw and Matthews should make it. Hansen also. Goss seems to be either injured or out of form. The course does not suit Gerrans. Probably doubts about his selection. Goss and Davis would normally be the protected riders but their form is off at the moment. I would like to see McEwen get a final go but if he does I can't see him winning the race as he simply isn't the sprinter he was about three years ago but he could help someone else go for the win. Matthews could be a dark horse if selected.
