I'm not exactly a fan of the one who pushed, but he was in his right.

Those clowns running besides cyclists, swerving due to exertion/booze/ whatever floats their boat... it's a disgrace. There have been many instances where there couldn't be any demarages due to the public. Also riders get hindered or even fall due to these idiots.

The public should just be the public: give the rider berth and stay put. If you want to make a statement, carry a banner, that will be good enough.

I actually had kids steal both of my water bottles after running alongside me up a tough climb in Cuba one year. Lol that's how slow I was going...

Years ago in an interview one of his DS said that Boonen in winter had to decrease the upper bodies exercises otherwise he would increase too much (easily) the mass.

Handlebars like that are why we have a Dustbin of History.

Is LeMond riding his standard single-wrap Benotto handlebar tape? Regardless, everyone should watch that P-R from (I think) '85 - LeMond doesn't win but puts in such a stellar ride. The shame is that in the polemics is lost just how awesome LeMond was as a cyclist ... one who could win on the road and track, grand tours and single-day events. Wish he would've won a classic, though. And contrast LeMond's attitude in P-R w/ that of David Millar, who thought a week ago that he was going to become a Classics man, but on Monday morning is whining about how hard P-R is. Duh! Of course it's hard. LeMond though...he just got on with it and rode (what he did after he couldn't ride any more, well...).

There was actually a rider with Scott Drop-Ins in the Cat 2 race at Dana Point yesterday........yes, it looked ridiculous.

I agree 100%. LeMond was INCREDIBLE as a rider, he was one of the main reasons I took up riding. I still have my LeMond carnacs that I bought in 94. I searched everywhere for them and finally found them at Sandpiper Bikes in Seal Beach (this was long before carnacs became popular here). Yeah, I am a LeMond fan. That is a fantastic pic, speaks volumes about racing a bike.
