i have been talking to my sister who is a veterinarian and is studying medicine atm and she says that he prolly has that because the muscle on his leg is so developed that pushed his veins closer to the skin and since those veins need to move much more blood then a normal person due to cycling they become much large then they should be.

its almost Varicose veins like some1 said on another thread but not really like Varicose veins.

I heard that it could be Arteriovenous Malformation, an abnormal collection of blood vessels.

What George Hincapie has on his leg definitely looks like varicose veins. Inside the veins are valves, which are like small one-way doors that make sure that the blood moves only in the direction of the heart. In a moment of very high blood pressure in the vein the valves can be blown backwards, allowing the blood to pool up over the next valve below that still works. This causes the vein to bulge out like that. It is not dangerous, it just looks at bit strange.

That was quite a primal scream. Very nice to see it, really made me happy for the guy, you could see the joy streaming from his face.

I like how he was in agony on the entire climb, grimacing all the way, yet the photographer managed to capture him looking 100 % tranquillo.

I know this can't be but, he looks like he's still sprinting on the way down, and doesn't realize he's crashing!

Guys - you don't need to keep including the same photos in quotes over and over, especially large ones.
