Nice classic pic here from the Tour Series round in Southport. That guy on the left definitely knows where he wants his hand to be;)

That is probably my favorite all time finish. Fignon gaps everyone behind on the climb. Suddenly Lemond blows past and catches the 3 leaders. They all summon the strength to stay with him over the top. Fignon comes back from the dead to make contact starting down the wet and treacherous descent. Almost everyone of the lead 5 tries at least one attack on the way down, all are caught and the pace never seems to slow, and yet somehow Kelly, who was nowhere in sight over the top catches them at the bottom of the downhill. Still it comes down to a group sprint, and Lemond takes it. You could not write it any better than that!

I remember 3 things about that finish. Claveyrolat (now dead) had been up front for a few laps when Laurent jumped on the last climb to go catch him. A few laps before Lemond had spoken about pulling out. The rain had not stopped and he "did not feel well" When Fignon burst out , suddenly Greg found his legs once more and right before they crested, he was on top of Laurent. At the finish line, I couldn't see well , too many people reaching for the barriers. When Greg passed the finish line I was practically on somebody's shoulders, the rain had not stopped but it felt like the sun was shining. You all made me want to find the pictures I took that day and scan them here.

This was along the final downhill turn before the finish in the Auburn Crit two weeks ago. 5 laps to go. I was leading the group through the corner, while Chad Gerlach was away solo. My front wheel found a little hole to sink into and my bike shot out from underneath me. My computer says we were going around 30-35mph.

I scraped up my arm, needed a stitch to hold it shut and I put a huge hole in my hip. I got up and finished for 15th. And I didn't break my bike.

Mike Magraf, the Safeway rider in the photo (who can apparently levitate his bike) crashed with me. He broke his sternum on the curb.

Well worth entering in a photo comp.

The late Fabio Casartelli.

DELETED BY ME

RIP Casartelli, but I don't think this photo is a classic nor a celebration of great moments in cycling. I don't think it should be here. :(

Why hasn't that photo been deleted by a mod yet? Pretty sure a picture McEwen's arm injury was deleted the other day.

And what's with the guy posting it everywhere?

Somewhat old picture, but looks like the Schlecks do almost everything together, even get pretty much the same injuries...
