Contador's epic surge up the Mortirolo on Stage 16 to save his Giro gets my vote for the pure drama of it and the fact he annihilated practically the entire Astana team who, along with Katusha were doing everything they could to get rid of him.
I agree that it was incredible but the epicness was reduced a little because Landa had to wait. That attack towards Aprica took some shine away from Contador's performance imo.

Contador has some clinic awards on his wall, no doubt, but nothing he did this year was that out of ordinary imo. He caught Astana purely because Landa had to wait.

He was weak by his standard in the Giro. 2011 Contador would have won 15 stages.

And given the other 6 to his teammates.

Re:

The Albert Einstein Memorial Award for Mathematical Genius goes to... Dave Brailsford for his epic release of Chris Froome's ride data at the TdF.
"What do you mean someone with a greater w/kg lost nearly a minute and a half to Chris?"

The award for the Rider who claims to be "cleans" yet his team gets busted for doping, he falls apart in the TDF, almost gets his license pulled, and still tries to maintain his "cleanliness" award goes to:

Nibali. :D

I agree, Contadors best climbing performance this year was on the first big climb he road in competition in february.

Isn't Zakharin an artificial sweetener? :)

And the bag awards goes to:

Most ridiculous performance: Froome, Porte and Thomas at Pierre St. Martin
Most obvious performance: Landa and Aru, stage 11 in the Vuelta
Most surprising perfomance: Dumoulin beating Froome and Purito on a steep mountain
Most overlooked perfomance: G Thomas' solo ride in Milano-Sanremo
Biggest hypocrite: Jonathan Vaughters
Worst doping: Yeah, he won the Giro, but it was like something was "missing".. Transfusions without testosterone is like cortisone without EPO.. something went wrong in the process. Maybe Riis and "co"?
Greatest mystery solved: What Luca Paolini is hiding under his clown nose
Best "scientific" project: Zakarin
The most clean rider of 2015: The retired version of Wiggo?
Biggest loser: Tom Danielson (losing his job, his friends, his passion, his hot girlfriend and perhaps even the house)
Hall of Fame: Bjarne Riis (doping like maniac as a rider and doping his riders as a sports director at team CSC)

Wasn't Paolini's performance in MSR stronger than G's?
G's long solo ride was some of the most impressive I've ever seen.

Especially when he dropped Oss. And after he got caught he continued be at the front of the peloton for some time. If he'll be in that shape next year, he could be the new Merckx. Like Froome but with actual talent.

Paolini almost singlehandedly pulled Oss and G back though (or at least maintained the gap on his own)

The "pulling a Tour of Turkey outside of Turkey" award goes to: Víctor De La Parte riding for Team Vorarlberg, broke the Kitzbüheler Horn record (faster than Riccò) in a stage that also included the Großglockner and destroyed everyone else.
Best Teflon doper: Steve Morabito, rode for Phonak, Hogstana, BMC and now for the clean French heros (FDJ), he rode for many shady teams and for many dopers, but you never heard a word about him doping.

Paolini should get the Al Capone award.

(thats getting done on some lesser offence)

Rogers took the award in 2014

So are you suggesting Rogers and Paolini doped?

Or that Al Capone never did anything worse than tax evasion?

In either case, some "proof" would be nice.

Nobody can beat Ángel Vicioso for team associations.

ONCE -> Liberty Seguros -> Astana -> Relax-GAM -> LA-MSS -> Andalucía-Caja Sur -> Androni Giocattoli -> Katyusha.

Andalucía is the odd one out there (!) - he only really needs Saunier Duval to complete the set.
