yeah cod games are just clones with minor changes.
Like many games.

But yeah I liked WAW, especially the campaign. I just couldn't be bothered investing time on it online, I like the guns better in the other versions.

(to be fair, the guys who made it call it a first person adventure game instead of a first person shooter, but there's still a lot of shooting involved.)

was it first person? I generally don't like 3rd person combat with guns, but some games I have found it quite enjoyable.. i.e uncharted.

Usually every new edition is better, but tends to get lower review scores because it didn't change a lot from its predecessor
Every new edition is better from a technical point of view, but not necessarily in regards to gameplay, balance and overall fun. For exampe, COD's campaign was much, much better than COD2's.

I like CoD over BF, I find BF too slow to my liking. Can't play the newest games at home though, my PC is way too old for those.

CS beats them both though and Wolfenstein Enemy-Territory is a great one too.

Used to play lots a few years ago, nowadays I probably spend the same amount of time playing in a year than I did in a week a few years back.

I picked it up and completed the campaign pretty quickly, which was a surprise as I don't play games much and generally suck at them. Looks like the spec ops missions will be available online this time, at least I hope so as it prompted me for an online handle before I could try one. Hope so, the spec ops section was the best part of MW2.

EDIT: Er, I think spec ops were online the last time around too, I just couldn't get it to work...

No, and that game looks boring on google ;)

Aiming with duo analog is just absolutely ridiculous. It really is. That's why it should be illegal to play fps on consoles.

It's not boring(how you can even come to that conclusion from google is a mystery), it's one of the best first person shooters ever made. Besides you can play all 3 Metroid prime games without Dual Analog, but with the Wii controller which is pretty smooth.

It's a game that easily clocks up 30 hours of gameplay in the singleplayer. About how many first person shooters can you say that? They usually have 7 hour story which is quite sad. Most of them are made for online gaming only.

And the next generation of consoles will all use similar control schemes as the Wii does now. Hell, it already exists as add on for the ps3 and xbox360. Dual Analog is a thing from the past. Killed by Nintendo. So I don't really understand your complaining.

I wouldn't know, I skip the single player campaign on COD games and go straight to the online mode

are you talking about metroid prime 3? it is wonderful, world class one of the best games ever, great fun... I am a fan of it...

I like the controls for fps games on the playstation, I like it more than the wii no doubt, never tried it with a keyboard and mouse but I guess that would be the best.

Because I hate games like that. I'm not a big gamer and only sports games bar BF2 and GTA can attract my interest. Of course I can say I wont like that game and will find it boring through pictures on Google? Why is that a mystery?! I know myself and what kind of games I like...

They remade metroid prime 1(the best of the 3), metroid prime 2(the hardest of the 3) so you can use wii control -.

It's called metroid prime trilogy and it includes all 3 games(MP1,2 and 3) with wii control for 45 Euros. Best gaming deal ever. 3 great games for the price of one.

It's a mystery because how can you judge something and say it's boring if you haven't played it? :p

I can understand you're only interested in sport games though(which are usually pretty horrible imo with a few exceptions).

I have a problem with the way the poll question is worded. Kill Screen nailed it in the first graph of their BF3 review (from http://www.killscreendaily.com/articles/reviews/review-battlefield-3

Let's get this out of the way: Military-themed first-person shooters aren't about depicting actual war. It is impossible to adequately recreate the horror of watching your friends die, or the intense fear of feeling as if you could die at any moment. Further, the developers of Battlefield, Call of Duty, and Medal of Honor have no interest in providing their audience with a long, hard look at the reality of their particular muse.

In lieu of that, there is no getting around the fact that MW3 is dated at this point. The graphics engine is built off of what is essentially a heavily modified Doom 3, an 8 year old game. Frostbite 2 is so delicious on a PC that can run it on high settings. That and the 64 player games on PC make the game distinctly different from consoles.

I was very disappointed that MW3 on PC has no adjustable field of view. Makes you kind of nauseated to play it. Sigh.

edit: And fwiw, MW3 is a pure twitch shooter now. Gun on gun. Battlefield has always been a "war" game (i.e., large battles using vehicles on huge maps). It's hard to say one is inherently better in terms of gameplay since they cater to entirely different playstyles.
