The Giro obviously is back on Eurosport Germany / International this year and no longer exclusively on Eurosport HD / British Eurosport. Is that right?

Talking about Kirby. Eurosport could better hire Phil Liggett, who at least still has his voice.

Could someone please offer Kirby a well-deserved "better" job - as a "reward"? That would be a reasonably polite way to rid us of his incessant inane drivel, distractions from the sport, and painful lack of cycling knowledge. As for his embarrassing annoying screaming and foaming at the mouth toward the end of each stage, I half expect him to collapse any day with a medical event. If really we wanted that kind of nonsense from our cycling commentators, we could call New York and have a rotating schedule of junior comics from "Saturday Night Live" do the job - they would be equally unprepared and useless, but slightly more entertaining.

So both Luis Piçarra and Paulo Martins calculated Nino Schurter was a tennis player after this tweet from Michael Matthews was aired on Eurosport. Piçarra also complained of Matthews using hashtags no one knew what he was talking about, such as #MTBWorldCup. From his previous enlightened conclusion, he deduced MTB World Cup was Tennis circuit tournament. This was a new low for Portuguese Eurosport, as if that was ever possible. I felt my blood pressure increasing.

está calado, nem eu percebi aquilo. este trio percebe de ciclismo e faz principalmente rir o espetador.

I'm so glad I'm not a native english speaker. We don't have to suffer under Kirby, Liggett, Hatch and the rest of the madhouse.

I was surprised to find out that American commentators were less dramatic and hysterical than the British. Even enjoyed the commentators that covered Utah last year. Maybe it's just because the likes of Kirby is really bad.

English please. What do you mean ''not even I understood it''? Some severe crap is going on if cycling commentators are not expected to know who Nino Schurter is, or if it's ok for them mistake him for a tennis player. Or proudly brag MTB is a wierd acronym for a cyclist to use, so it also must be related to tennis. Olivier Bonamici knows what he's talking about most of the time, the other two are clueless. I don't care if they make you laugh, that's not what they're paid for and certainly not the reason why I watch cycling.

What's with the bash on Hatch? Until this Giro he was considered one of the best announcers around, now he's on the same league as Phil Liggett and Carlton Kirby? Talk about making the exception a rule.

Jesus christ and I thought the commentators here were terrible.

@ ArgyllFlyer: Are you going to put down the Eilte Road Series (Mcrossan & Stephans) and Tour Series (Porter & Smith) under the british eurosport commentry?

Matt and Marty at the World Ports were quite good together.

Yeah I was planning to but lost track of the first round of the Spring Cup - I assume it was McCrossan / Stephens too? I'll edit them in.

Yep. They've done every round so far.

For the love of all things sacred, can we put Kirby Sherwen and Bob Roll on a garbage barge trapped in the pacific Gyre for eternity....I've never been in a situation where I listened to Kirby for more than a stage without long periods between, but he is right up there with the very worst. Sheesh. Kelly isn't that bad, since half the time i have no idea what he is saying, Whatever version of English that is, I struggle to translate it to my own. Liggett is senile, so I disregard 90% of what he says and sometime he does crack me up, intentionally or not. But I can't tolerate people who try to be funny and are not. Just have no patience whatsoever.

Hatch trying to pronounce Italian names is a total head banger, its like someone vomiting. But he has good points, he's pretty good with rider ID, with Kelly's help, but mainly, he's not strictly Omerta. He often refers to a riders dubious past which is refreshing. Even Kelly has lightened up in that regard, virtually admitting one of Chiappucci's epic rides was obviously doped.

For all of the whining about Eurosport, I give you two names: Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin.

Any Eurosport commentator is better than those two clowns.
