If the Eurosport guy says "the line doth beckon" (or however you'd spell that nonsense) one more time I'll punch him through the screen of my tv.

why do these guys praise sky so much? From the moment Sky started their TTT, the 2 of them were saying as if negative split is a Sky invention.

I thought Eurosport were doing the worlds unless something had changed.

The portuguese eurosport commentators said they won't be broadcasting the World Championships. International Eurosport schedule is different from British Eurosport, so there could be a difference here (I remember some races being broadcasted in British Eurosport that weren't in the International Eurosport). Or it could be one of the portuguese commentators usual gaffes, which is not that uncommon (portuguese eurosport viewers know what I'm talking about) :p

i hate how Kirby constantly calls the race "The Vuelta Tour of Spain"

+1. Maybe he thinks "Vuelta" is some sort of sponsor's name, like Amgen Tour of California. :p

Kirby's hyperactivity appears to be getting worse. Or maybe it's just me losing patience with him. He just never shuts up. It's rarely anything interesting or informative, just nonstop banal chatter. It's like being forced to sit on a plane next to some stranger who won't stop telling you about his kids.

I ain't having this all month. Kirby = mute button or switch over to a non-English stream.

Pretty sure BBC have the Worlds in the UK for 2013.

Edit: and are the UCI not showing all their events live on youtube now?

Just the BBC and not Eurosport?

NOooooooooooooo!!!!!!

While I feel sorry for those who won't be able to watch it, I'd take anyone in the commentary box over kirby who is an even worse commentator than Ligget. An absolute joke of a human being who talks absolute **** hour after hour and still has very little idea about the sport he is paid to commentate on.

How on earth can someone who commentates on cycling for a living mistake Flecha for Poels? Even worse was his constant discussion about the chances of Soupe, Farrar and Gilbert after they had been dropped.

Couldn't agree more! Was watching highlights from yesterday's stage and when the echelons formed (albeit temporarily) he didn't once attempt to say whether which of the main GC riders were caught out. Someone needs to give him a big screen and a sheet with the riders names and numbers on so that he can actually be informative!!

Is it time that riders wore names on the back of shirts so that the viewer and the commentators can actually tell who the riders are? Or would that ruin some of the tactics of breakaways?

Even worse is when the penny does eventually drop and he realises he's got it wrong it's ALWAYS somebody else's fault. It's one thing having a massive ego when you're good at what you do but when you're hopeless and still acting like a cycling genius it makes it 100 times worse

I hope these rumours of Eurosport not having the worlds are false. I refuse to listen to hours of Hugh Porter on the BBC!

I read that Porter had been replaced by Simon Brotherton as BBC cycling commentator. Various newspapers tried to kick up a fuss actually.

For Ride London, Brotherton and Rob Hayles did the start and first hour or so live on BBC1, then as they were covering the whole thing on red button too, Hugh Porter and Brian Smith took over for an hour or two. SB and RH resumed for the finale.

You can only watch it on youtube if it's not shown on TV in your country. Otherwise it's geo-restricted.
