Commentators Must Use PCS to tell them what's going.

So many times I'm reading Pro Cycling Stats (PCS) live feed and shortly after the broadcast commentators echo what came on the feed.

Very very seldom do the commentators even credit the source.

The offender this morning, the one that made me post, was NBC bringing up the last time an American won of 4th of July. They did it shortly after PCS.

It was only like this. But now instead of them paying for professional services to deliver them interesting statistics before the race, they now take advantage of free options.

Often when scrolling between international and local feed of Eurosport, I catch them talking about the same subject on air, despite not being directly related to what's on image. Little doubt that it's some info relayed by the production audio that goes to all Eurosport commentator teams.

Its not a hidden secret they all use procyclingstats and what not, I don't mind & am all for it - the way to think about it is if they've seen something that they think is interesting then yes, absolutely they should relay to the majority of viewers who don't know about the website. But yes, it would be better if they gave the site some promotion -they could have a 'procyclingstat stat of the day' spot for example

Often, what they talk about on Danish ES is just so random, I doubt they are told to talk about it.

And do you think PCS got all the data by themselves? Where do you think PCS gets most data about riders height, weight, upcoming race program, injuries etc? They get it from people who add that info to the site, free of charge and they also do not get any credit for it, nor does their source.

PCS is a website running off a database with info compiled from data that was put in by a community as well as the site owner(s). And the guy makes money off advertising and gets hundreds of thousands of hits per day in return. Credit to him for making it a succes, but the info they get they get from mainstream cycling media doing interviews with cyclists etc to begin with. The trivia they post (that might get picked up by mainstream cycling media) is simply pulled from the database and is basically is just closing the loop. As PCS does not credit it's sources, i don't see why other media should credit PCS. Furthermore, PCS is now charging for "pro accounts", making money off the work of the community.

I think it only need getting used to. For results and startlist it's almost the same as PCS for me.

And PCS has been usability has been declining with the latest changes they've done, specially on mobile.

FirstCycling generally lack preliminary startlists. It's either the final startlist, or just "No Lineup".

But, yeah... bit annoying how you on PCS now has to scroll past a bunch of race results to see upcoming startlists.

I always follow Eurosport Player with „Ambient Sound“, so I don‘t have to listen to any commentator.

After having followed road pro cycling for 26 years now, I anyways know more about the races and data than the commentators.

PCS is good, Firstcycling is good, but cqranking is good, too…

I will say this about PCS:
They gotta stop cloning people!
Had a look at the staff lists for the WT teams, and there is something suspicious going on at Jayco. Looks like they have two Marco Pinottis, pretty sure that's against the rules...
