In the market for a new saddle. Been riding SLRs for years and it's worked pretty well for me. Might just get another one but was thinking of trying something different.

What are some other saddles that are similar (flat, flexible shell, etc).

My favorite is the serfas "stinger" if you can find it. Looks the same as an slr and is very comfortable and durabe. I think they only make one with a cut out now. I would buy 10 of them if I could find the non cut out model. Cheap too and weigh in at around 200g

I was in the same position a couple of years ago. Loved the SLRs but wanted to try something different. I tried Prologo and a couple of different Fizik (Ariones and Aliante I think). I didn't like the Prologo and that was happily sold with my Cervelo R3. The Fizik's aren't bad, and I like their integrated saddle bags. In saying that though, I have just bought two more SLRs because they're just the saddles that work for me. (On a side note, the leather Brooks saddles on my commuters are very comfy!).

Elapid, are you riding the standard SLR? ( I think mine is called the classic SLR - 135g ). I see several models of that now. More or less the same shape, just different types and amount of padding.

I did try a cut out saddle (specialied toupe) and couldn't get used to it and went back to my SLR.

For the Fizik, the antares look similar though the shell seems much stiffer and it has more padding.

There are a number of different SLR models now. I always preferred the same as yours - 135g (in fact, had two in black and red). The red one is on one of my commuters and the black one is in the spare bin because it is pretty worn. I just bought the SLR Kit Carbonio Flow in black (small cutout) and the SLR Team Edition in white/red. I'll switch the former to my road bike and the latter to my 'cross bike at some stage this season.

I use the SLR T1 on my mountain bike, love that thing. Plenty of padding and the extra room on the nose is awesome for those blasted steep pitches.

I'm riding the Toupe which seems similiar. How about a flite? That's very flat.
