On his website he says he won't go as a leader. He'll be in the Nibali mode - preparation for the worlds.
The leaders should be Majka and Roche.

Upset that Evans did not consider riding the Vuelta- getting a top 5 and peaking for the WC instead of failing at the TDF.

Looks like it will be interesting GC wise.

That was his younger brother Jesus. And if only one of the two brothers goes to La Vuelta, it'll be him.

Sadly enough Movistar would be better off by leaving out Gutierrez, who seems to have passed his best years to put it mildly. Karpets as well....

Thanks, I always make the same mistake with the Herrada brothers, I change their names. I also think it will be Jesus the one selected.

Maybe Gutiérrez isn't the same old one anymore, but Karpets should still have 2 -3 good years. In his case, it could be lack of motivation to be a domestique (not that he can be leader). But I can see Karpets out of the 3 GT's: last year even David López didn't ride any of them, and he has been important for Sky this year.

Argos Pre-selection: Nikias Arndt (Ger), Warren Barguil (Fra), Will Clarke (Aus), Johannes Fröhlinger (Ger), Thierry Hupond (Fra), Reinardt Janse van Rensburg (RSA), Koen de Kort (Ned), François Parisien (Can), Tom Peterson (USA), Georg Preidler (Aut), Ramon Sinkeldam (Ned), Tom Stamsnijder (Ned)

No Degenkolb / Kittel. A lot of teams could do worse than bring a sprinter or two because the world's best appear to be giving this a swerve

So no Sagan, Cavendish, Kittel, Greipel, Degenkolb.

I wonder are FDJ or AG2R sending Demare, Bouhanni, Dumoulin and Hutarovich. I cannot believe I am thinking of the latter two in terms of bunch sprints in a GT.

I won if EBH fancies the points jersey if he goes.

There are really 5 stages for the sprinters. Okay, 6 at a stretch. Doubt that a sprinter will win the jersey.

One last hurrah for Basso sounds about right, even if it means he ends up beating Lo Squalo .

He should be able to contest 8 of the stages. Still won't be enough for the Jersey me thinks.

There are mostly 2 kind of stages in the Vuelta. For climbers and for sprinters.

And even then, there is still a huge question mark over his form even if he gets selected.

His contract ends this year, and he was rumoured to leave

Neh, I don't think he'll participate in the flat bunch sprints at all due to his shoulder.

Maybe is time that you put Henao in bold. We cannot account for what could happen between now and the start of the Vuelta.

To be honest I'm going to wait for the official announcement before bolding names. Until yesterday Kruijswijk was certain to go for instance. The same with Sandy Casar. De Kort was also on Argos' pre-selection list until yesterday's announcement that he won't ride.
