Leemans went Gilbert style and didn't make it. I like the prospects.

And the French, whoa. Just owning

The true Gilbert type rider was Lecuisinier, of course. Making the selection on the climb and winning the sprint. Strongest rider in the race.

First good ride from the Dutch as well. Too bad Slik couldn't hold on, I get the feeling he still wasn't at 100%.

Great ride by the French, first from the break and first from the bunch. Brilliant team tactics.

So Zabel was the second in the bunch. The apple hasn't fallen far from the tree;)

Edit: It appears he was actually first from the bunch.

Lecuisinier could have just got his passport to oblivion, because in the last 30 editions of the Junior RR, only Tonkov and Cunego have gone on to reach the top in the sport.

congrats to Lecuisinier. France controlled the race and did well by winning. Zabel would have got 1st if they chased harder, a great sign of things to come. Did Calvin Watson bother or did he cramp, because he should have been up there at the end?
