I'm not familiar with the race, but is it the equivalent of one of those post-tour criteriums where the podium is chosen ahead of time and no real racing goes on?

I'm also mad about the lack of CQ points for the Tour de Grizzly.

Ha.

Well it seems real enough

Cheers Hitch, how depressing, sigh. Although i'm reasonably optimistic of overhauling Libertine and his Colombian army lol

a lot can change. libertine's team is very stage race heavy so they should start scoring now with the 1 week spanish races and GT's getting close

i didn't know microdose's team was all australian lol. well then he should be about to stop scoring :p

Well... this week was a pretty big bust for me... but honestly other then Haussler I didn't have much in the way of chances in MSR. Steegmans kept it from being a total bust with his Nokere-Koerse win.

Let's hope I can bounce back at Catalunya. I'm not sure how correct the start list I'm looking at is... but I think I've got the following riding:

Lloyd
Sicard
Uran
Mollema
Stetina
Vandevelde
Danielson
Phinney
Seeldrayers
Hoogerland

Don't see a podium there, but perhaps a couple in the top 10 and some stage placings.

Thanks Hugo for the update! This is fun!

Somehow I made it into the Top 20. (18th) Not sure how, but I got no hopes to stay there for very long :D

Congrats to The Hitch for the Top 10. Well deserved!

I actually considered picking him as i thought he would be Greipel 2011 but decided 600 wasnt worth the risk.

A question though.

Are any of you guys not from Australia?

I am not from Australia but I have followed Goss since his days on CSC. I picked him based on his development the last years, his improvements on the cobbles, team tactics, Greipel leaving and so on.

On another note: Maaskant out... that makes 4 riders out for me - and of course Valverde but I knew he was not going to race. Hopefully some of my other riders will start to score soon. Looks like Tejay will win the battle for 2nd place tour-rider against Velits.

Well, I don't think it can get any better for me, winning T-A and MSR and going back to the lead. It's been a great year for Aussie riders so far and while there will probably be a number of good results from here there's little doubt in my mind that my slide down the ladder will start very soon.

Unless ofcourse Cadel wins the Tour & Vuelta double --> queue ACF supernova style explosion.

Thanks again to Hugh for getting this game going and keeping the updates flowing.

Actually I was thinking of Peter Velits. It might just be me but I consider him a much bigger talent than his brother. I am not sure what to expect from Martin.

- The Amateur

so you are saying that tejay will beat peter for a tour spot as GC leader?

i may have misunderstood your post. so i want to clarify that

Ok, I can see why my post(s) can be misunderstood. I was talking about gc contenders. Cav is the biggest star on the team but that is another story. The team will probably be riding for him on every stage he has a chance to win.

I do however think Tony Martin will be their primary contender for the GC. I expect him to fail but I still think they will try. He looks a lot stronger this year but he cannot follow the best in the high mountains.

Regarding the P. Velits vs. Tejay battle: I was (and to some still extent still are) putting my money on Peter Velits as the top contender for the tours this year but Tejay has been looking very strong thus far - and he sure is a great big talent. I expect him to surpass Velits - if not this year then in the next years.

But that is just my guess of course.

Thanks man, though i dont think im a very popular top 10er otherwise.

Youve got Cancellara and Boonen, and the cobbled classics are just coming up now. Unless they crash into eachother, your going to go up before you go down.

You are not popular because your team is too dangerous to all those Aussies :D

I hope Cancellara will win some races in April since I need over 1000 points just to break even. Definitely not excited about the idea of skipping the TT @ WC since it is definite lost of some guaranteed points

On the other hand, 35 other maniacs has Boonen so the impact from his results wont be too big. Its almost like having Hassler, his results doesnt really matter that much at all :D
