One thing about this game is that once you send in your squad you don't have to do anything else. You're set. Whether Dim cares or not, his team will end up with the same score. Maybe it would be interesting to introduce new rules for next year so that there's some managing to do during the season, but then again one of the big appeals of this game is its simplicity. Something to think about when the season ends, I suppose.

Well, overall I'm not doing great. But at least I made a few good picks that let me feel slightly better about myself.

I'm not happy about the Matt Lloyd pick right now... but Ben Hermans is already 80 points past his score from last year with his top 10 today. And I'm the only one who picked him... so I can tout that to some degree about "getting one right".

FW is one of those races where a Quinella is, well more likely than usual. Because it generally comes down to who is the strongest at the finish. Its easier to predict who will be the 5 strongest climbers on the day than to predict who will attack when and where etc.

The other such races will be the grand tours which also come down to strongest in the mountains.

80th place. I've only been counting my points and ignoring my placing in the game. Plus, everytime the updates are put up, it always seems like I'm in the same place.

I have been slowly climbing up and up and up until now.
I believe this is my first week when I lost position and quite honestly last week's 13th will probably stay my highest rank in this game. I was hoping to make it to the Top10 after the cobbles but I guess it wasnt meant to be.
Congrats to those who moved higher :D

Nope, I'm in about the same boat. Sometimes after a race I'll have a moment where I do remember. Like in AGR yesterday I was pleasantly surprised when I remembered that I have Gerrans on my team and scored some points.

FELLINE Fabio 288 (set back by injury and thus very dissapointing so far)
VALLS FERRI Rafael 256 (dissapointing so far)
HAUSSLER Heinrich 251 (dissapointing so far, still a good pick)
GUARNIERI Jacopo 232 (very dissapointing so far)
NUYENS Nick 220 (finally a succesfull pick)
DUARTE AREVALO Fabio Andres 181 (doing well and a good pick but could have done better)

RATTO Daniele 150 (very dissapointing so far, most of all his climbing seems very stagnated)
GERRANS Simon 140 (doing well)
SAMOILAU Branislau 133 (doing horrible so far, hopefully saving his power)
DI LUCA Danilo 113 (doing very mediocre but still a good choise)
VANDE VELDE Christian 90 (too early to judge him, but decent so far)
NAVARRO GARCIA Daniel 90 (hoped for a contadorban picking him so he will not do much)

Three weeks in a row with a top10 score finally brings me in the overall top10.

I've been kicking myself a lot over my forgetting of Di Luca, but hopefully his performance in Amstel is a good indicator of his abilities in the bigger races, so he won't be a major factor in this years game.

My two bad buys are Pellizotti (should have picked Di Luca instead) and Kritskey, who was my potential scoop, but he's not even racing for Itera-Katusha atm.

A lot of my not so sure picks have zero points as well, so my placing is mainly due to the "known faces" Cunego, Ballan, Haussler, Gerrans, Nuyens, D&G, Taaramae and Boonen.

You should do a new count and give Ballan & Cunego zero points because it is very much possible that at the end of the year you wont have any points from those two suckers.

Daniele Ratto have changed his focus somewhat MADRAZO!

He still characterizes himself as a climber/rouleur, but now says his ambition is other places than in the GT’s. As a U-23 and Junior, he always dreamt of being a similar type of rider as Ivan Basso. This winter he has put on an additional 5kilograms. His stature is now 1.80cm - 69kilograms. Together with his brother or step-brother (Different fathers!) Enrico Peruffo from Team Vorarlberg they have worked a lot on his ability as a finisheur to sharpen him even more for the hilly one-day classics. Now he aims for races such as Liege-Bastogne-Liege, San Sebastian and Lombardia etc. A class act that for sure still will have an amazing career. The GT stamp, however, even I must recognize is gone.

btw, people worrying about Ballan shouldn't be too concerned yet as he is still racing and is riding Trentino.

My positive riders are Cobo, Deignan, Galimzyanov, Gerrans, Goss, Haussler, Matthews and Vaitkus.

My riders yet to score Betancourt, Brandle, Vladimir Efimkin, Kasheckin, Pellizotti and Phinney.

Apart from those I am most worried about Porte, Ivanov and Oss.

Might be so, but to me it seems like an old story with nothing new added. If they should happen to get banned later this year, that's the nature of this game.

Thanks for the info

Too bad with the climbing potential he showed earlier, but he could definetly also have a great career in such 1-day races, and already last year I guess he also showed some strong sprinting-potential that could be developed further. The results in the classics will propably first come a bit later then, as that is often the case with such races. A development a bit like Felline I guess that I had also hoped for in stageraces but now seems primed to be a super 1-day racer.

Btw. concrats on the recent very strong showings from one of your other hyped talents Tosh Vandersande.
