Using average speed is very bad measurement if you want to claim Ganna rode better in the last part than he did before. Of course the average speed goes up when you go downhill…

Ganna's first race after an altitude camp, so he was probably also not at his best and he faded a bit at the end.
Cattaneo rode a really good TT, if the Tour had a 2nd long TT like in the old days he'd actually be a legit gt rider.

Average speed raise when you go downhill of course, but for one could raise more and less for another. It's pretty visible that Wout gained more in avg.spd than Ganna between T2 and finish. It's not bad measurement, it's less intuitive.
