Obviously Pogacar can put a minute into Vingo in a Junior length stage, but it'll be a different story at the Tour with actual mountain stages.

Vingo's first race since the middle of March. Pog's since the end of April. It will be a different story at the Tour. We could be still be vaguely interested in the third week?

If Visma want a real shot at the Tour, they need to re-evaluate their tactics.

They can't go head to head with UAE with the same tactics, that much is clear from today.

Sure Van Aert and Simon Yates are not there, but neither are Almeida and Adam Yates.

The gap from Vingegaard to the rest is actually similar to when he won in 2023. The question is 1) how close he was to his peak level at the time (because he should be similarly close/far here, if not marginally further because of the backloaded Tour route), 2) whether Pogacar is closer to his peak level, and 3) how much stronger Pogacar is compared to 2022/2023. This Dauphiné won't provide the answer to any of the above, so there is literally nothing to care about left in the remaining two stages.
