Everyone took a spanking... Visma as a team actually not so much. Jorgenson and Tulett were good. It was Vingegaard who just got destroyed, doesn't have the level you might expect from him.

Agreed.

Vingegaard is not at his Dauphiné 2023 level. At least not comparatively speaking versus the rest of the field.

The fact he 'only' put 20 seconds or so into Lipowitz was quite surprising.

If Visma want a real shot at the Tour, they need to re-evaluate their tactics.

They can't go head to head with UAE with the same tactics, that much is clear from today.

Sure Van Aert and Simon Yates are not there, but neither are Almeida and Adam Yates.
If the gap between Pogi and the rest is this big at the Tour the tactics really don't matter.

What a ''duel'' btw. I wonder when you guys who watch every race under the sun how you can even be surprised by this.

The most obvious thing there is, he can drop Vingegaard whenever he wants on climbs and just ride away... Never seen a guy play more with his food in the TT. He wasn't even tired after the TT, not giving any numbers away, to do that knowing you still win, laughing. It's over. It's ridiculous how big the gap is

Because Vingegaard has beaten him twice. But now Vingo is barely better than second tier riders. Yeah, then it becomes rather easy.

Wow, Teddy showed them who's the boss! A seated attack (!) to drop them all and quite big gaps for this moderate climb. I actually expected Vingo to test Pogi today but Visma-LAB will probably try an attack tomorrow. Vingo not at his best but that's cycling (neither was Pogacar 2 days ago). Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Come on, he rode a poor TT. Just accept that your lord and saviour can have a bad performance every once in a while.

I don't even think he had such a bad day, but his TT setup didn't do him any favours.
I was thinking that also but please read the posts of Danielson. He knows more than you and me about cycling. I am 100 % sure now that Pogacar was training in the TT.

Still don't understand how only IWG were the only team to see Louis Barre's potential. Or maybe he's just performing massively above expectation?

You may think that, but no professional athelte worth his salt would ever thing that - it would defeat the entire purpose of taking part in the race - and actually make you perform much worse.

We can only hope Vinge had a bad day and shape will improve to the tour.
Otherwise, the tour will be incredibly boring.

However, after seeing Vinge losing a minute in just 7-8k, I'm very pessimistic.
Even Vinge on a good day is still 30s behind I believe.

Some like to see domination. Well, I can be fun for a while, but in the end we want a battle, especially in the tour. Now I sincerely doubt we will see one. :(
