Or contador was unable to wheel suck his way to victory

 Contador was unable to come around Froome in the sprint, but Froome also wasn't able to drop him at any point.

Ugh, Alberto.
It's as if the Chicken and Leipheimer have conceived some grotesque lovechild.

The Sky train disappointed. Porte dropped really early. Thomas and especially Nieve were good, but Froome was alone too early. Fantastic performance though, him and Contador sprinting uphill....

But also contador was unable to attack. Not once. Several of the others at least gave it a go. Kelderman was brilliant

And any rider that wins a stage in any race is allowed to celebrate

AC still won the mind wars.

now Froome will have to think harder to create a fair buffer to AC. a 12 sec gap is peanuts.

so the real winner is still AC.

Looks like we will have a exciting Tour de France after all.

Contador was glued to Froome's wheel. He could respond to all of his paranormal alien attacks this time.

Froome has crossed the line first, but I'd give this round to Contador. Simply because Froome failed in the attempt(s) to blow Contador.
Somebody really needs to work with Froome on his tactics. It's a chronic problem. This today was pure waste of energy out of an irrational wish for domination.
And it's not just the tactics it's the character, too.

No real positives at all for Contador there. Froome led for 6km, chased down around 5 or 6 attacks and Contador still couldn't pass him at the finish. Sad to see but Froome has reduced Contador to being nothing more than a wheelsucker.

Perhaps you don't understand Contador's goals here, but it's not to win the Dauphine. Look back at his 2009 Dauphine. He just followed the wheel of his top Tour competitor (then Cadel Evans). Despite Froome taking the victory on the line, I actually think Contador is the big winner of the mental battle.
